The Kate Project

Kate Moss by Mario Sorrenti – one of the iconic images showcased as part of the Kate Moss Portfolio

Stars of the fashion and art worlds came out last night to celebrate the opening of Danziger Projects Kate Moss Porfolio, a unique collaboration between the supermodel and the gallery. Given Moss’ lasting influence as both a model and a muse, it is unsurprising to see her image in a gallery space. Danzinger tells NYT’s Cathy Horyn, that he “had always been a Kate Moss fan but recognized early on that she brought something different to photography.”

Looking back on the highlights of Moss’ career via the photographers that shaped it, the show features eleven 30 x 24 inch prints created by some of the world’s most prominent photographers. Mario Sorrenti, Glen Luchford, Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, Chuck Close, Annie Leibovitz, David Sims, Herb Ritts, Juergen Teller, Mario Testino and Bruce Weber each contributed seminal Moss images.
