What if the innovative and avant garde woman of Balenciaga, had a fun loving kid sister with a taste for partying? Ohne Titel’s S/S collection shown today in New York seems to answer that question with a series of edgy yet approachable looks. The graphic sensibility of Ghesquière’s designs are there, but Flora Gill and Alexa Adams add their own twist via a timely reference to woodblock artist, Utagawa Kuniyoshi and an innate knowledge of their consumer. The youthful and occasionally playful spirit of the brand is still intact, signatures like color-blocking remain fixtures and the knitwear is as sleek as ever. Additions like neoprene embellishments at the waist and hips added a touch of coy sexiness to things and the abundance of bodysuits was a welcome change of pace, but the one item were sure will be snagging editorial space left and right – those staggering black and white heels.
