Olivier Rousteing Exits Balmain
After 14 years, Olivier Rousteing is stepping down as creative director of Balmain. Rousteing joined the house in 2009 to head its studio under then creative director Christophe Decarnin. In 2011, he made history when he was named creative director at the age of 25, becoming the first Black designer to lead a French fashion house. Reflecting on his tenure, he said, “I am deeply proud of all that I’ve accomplished, and profoundly grateful to my exceptional team at Balmain, my chosen family, in a place that has been my home for the past 14 years. My thanks go to Mr. Rachid Mohamed Rachid and [chief executive officer] Matteo Sgarbossa for their unwavering belief in me and for entrusting me with this extraordinary opportunity,” he continued. “As I look ahead to the future and the next chapter of my creative journey, I will always hold this treasured time close to my heart.” [WWD]
The CFDA 2025 Winners
On Monday, November 3rd, the Council of Fashion Designers of America hosted its annual awards ceremony. Ralph Lauren took home the American Womenswear Designer of the Year award, while CFDA Chairman Thom Browne was named American Menswear Designer of the Year. W’s editor-in-chief, Sara Moonves, received the prestigious Media Award in Honor of Eugenia Sheppard. The Row’s Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen won Accessory Designer of the Year for the fourth time. Emerging Designer of the Year went to Ashlynn Park, and International Designer of the Year was awarded to Pieter Mulier of Alaïa. Donatella Versace received the Positive Change Award, Fear of God’s Jerry Lorenzo earned the Innovation Award, Andre Walker was honored with the Isabel Toledo Board of Directors’ Tribute, and A$AP Rocky was named the 2025 Fashion Icon. i-D Magazine Taps Clare Byrne
i-D Magazine has appointed Clare Byrne as Global Fashion Director. Working between New York and Europe, Byrne is known for her instinctive approach to visual storytelling. During her tenure as Fashion Director at The Travel Almanac, she featured talents such as Grimes , A$AP Rocky, Arca, and Anohni.“i-D has long championed new perspectives and shaped how we see creativity, culture, and style. Teen Vogue is joining VOGUE.com as part of a broader effort to expand the Vogue ecosystem. The title will remain a distinct editorial property with its own identity and mission, operating under the Vogue umbrella. Abode of Snow and Agnès B have come together in a collaboration inspired by the chuba, the traditional Tibetan robe designed for the region’s cold climate. The ankle-length garment, tied with a long sash, is known for its distinctive upper fold that doubles as a roomy pocket a detail echoed in the collection’s silhouette. Produced in Kathmandu, Nepal, the collaboration features the Abode of Snow Mila Down Vest and Mila 2.0 Down Jacket, both lined with a winter photograph taken by Agnès in her own garden a quiet, personal touch layered within the technical design.
