Marni F/W 24 Travelled To A Prehistoric Era

Primal feelings jettisons into the future for Marni’s F/W 24 showing under Stazione Milano Centrale. With cavernous walls plastered in paper, Francesco Risso took viewers into his prehistoric vision for the next season that was filled with dramatic shapes that took stiff form into angular contours and egg-shaped cocoons. Risso wanted us to meet the Flintstones with furry textures and a formidable leopard print was a yabba-dabba-do. Thick globs of streaked paint mimicked feathers and morphed the mundanity of white faux fur, while flocked velvet and cotton canvas was sketched to evoke brush strokes like the look rocked by Paloma Elsesser. Supple leathers stood out like the ones sported by Matilda Liedholm and Kai Newman. Styled by Carlos Nazario and cast by Rachel Chandler, photographer Sonny Vandevelde takes us behind the scenes of the exhilarating show.
