Hervé Léger Taps Michelle Ochs
Michelle Ochs is set to take over as the new creative director of Hervé Léger, succeeding Christian Juul Nielsen. Nielsen, who joined the Hervé Léger team in 2018, will now shift his focus to his own brand, Aknvas. Ochs, renowned for her work on the luxury women’s collection, Et Ochs, expressed her excitement and said, “Hervé Léger is a historic fashion brand, and I am deeply honored to have the opportunity to make my mark on this iconic label.” The new creative director is scheduled to unveil her debut collection during New York Fashion Week in September. Prior to this role, Ochs was part of a design duo at Cushnie et Ochs before venturing out on her own in 2021 and founding Et Ochs, which falls under the umbrella of JS Group. [WWD]

Jacquemus Is Headed to the Palace of Versailles
Jacquemus, renowned for its extravagant show locations, has set its sights on a new destination. The brand will unveil its upcoming show at the Palace of Versailles on June 26th. Simon Porte Jacquemus said on the upcoming collection, “having the opportunity to stage a show at Versailles has always been a childhood dream of mine. The historical significance of this location has deeply inspired me throughout the design process, leading me to explore new creative possibilities that are distinct from my previous shows but still embody the essence of Jacquemus. As an independent fashion house, I feel incredibly honored and proud to showcase our collection in this iconic setting. It will undoubtedly be a truly special moment for Jacquemus.” [WWD]

Sarah Ball Is the New Editor-in-Chief of WSJ Magazine
Sarah Ball has been appointed as the new editor-in-chief of WSJ Magazine, succeeding Kristina O’Neill. Ball initially joined the publication in 2018 as the digital director. During her tenure at WSJ Mag, Ball successfully launched the style news desk, which played a crucial role in more than doubling the magazine’s digital audience. Going forward, she will continue to oversee the style news desk and lead a team of 15 reporters and editors. Wall Street Journal editor-in-chief Emma Tucker expressed her confidence in Ball’s abilities, stating, “Sarah is uniquely positioned to build upon Kristina O’Neill’s decade of transformative and innovative work, taking the magazine to new heights.” [BoF]

Genesis House x the CFDA Grant Program
Genesis House and the CFDA have collaborated to launch a grant program aimed at supporting the next generation of AAPI designers. The initiative spans a five-month period, allowing three promising designers to participate. Applications for this opportunity will be open later in the summer. The selected designers will have the chance to present their collections to esteemed individuals such as Prabal Gurung, actress Jodie Turner-Smith, Monse cofounder Fernando Garcia, Saks Fifth Avenue’s Sandra Park, and Alina Cho, among others. The designers will be tasked with creating a bespoke collection that explores the interplay between Korean cultural traditions and modernity. In a display of their commitment, Genesis House will generously provide each designer with a $40,000 grant to focus on their design collections. [WWD]
