InStyle Goes Completely Digital
Dotdash Meredith, the company that acquired InStyle U.S., announced that the publication is discontinuing its print editions and going fully digital. The magazine is one out of the six editions obtained by Meredith that are also going digital – Entertainment Weekly, EatingWell, Health, Parents, and People en Español are the other publications. The news has led to a loss of 200 jobs and the recent announcement that Laura Brown will also be leaving InStyle after 6 years as EIC of the print publication. [Fashionista]

Alexander McQueen To Show In New York on March 15
The industry was stunned with the news of British luxury brand, Alexander McQueen announcing that its new collection will debut in New York; NYFW isn’t dead after all? However, McQueen isn’t showing during the official calendar dates, and has followed suit like Gucci, another Kering brand, by showing off-season. In the past, the British brand has shown in Paris and just recently London for their S/S 22 show. Creative Director Sarah Burton, when asked about why she decided to show in NYC, said she wanted to “listen to the rhythm of her studio” according to WWD. [WWD]

NYFW Returns With a Twist
Even with speculations about NYFW running or not, it’s finally here. While different from past seasons with many established brands absent from the calendar, it does give an opportunity for the spotlight to shine on young and emerging talents. The shows start today and run until Wednesday, February 16th, with a combination of physical shows and digital presentations. Shayne Oliver is making an appearance after two years of the news that Hood by Air made a comeback; launching his first collection today at 9 pm. The designer is going through a rebrand and while still making HBA essentials, is naming his new label SHAYNEOLIVER. To celebrate his new collection, the designer has organized a three-part event for the debut of the new line taking place this weekend. [Vogue]

Virgil Abloh’s Exhibit Will Showcase at the Brooklyn Museum
The Brooklyn Museum is working on an exhibition dedicated to the late Virgil Abloh’s work and impact on the industry, curated by Michael Darling and Antwaun Sargent. “Figures of Speech” will open on July 1, displaying a combination of fashion, large-scale sculptures, immersive spaces, and sketches from Abloh’s two-decade career. The exhibition is set to run until January 2023. [Dazed]

Louis Vuitton Is Heading To California For Cruise
Women’s Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton, Nicolas Ghesquière revealed that the brand is making its way to California on May 12 for the house’s 2023 cruise collection. Although a venue and city hasn’t been announced yet, the luxury brand “will continue its architectural journey of showcasing cruise collections at exclusive locations of exceptional design and renown around the world” according to a spokesperson for Louis Vuitton.
