Véronique Nichanian Focuses on Sophisticated Seduction for Hermès F/W 22

Hermès is known for its sleek classic opulent designs, but for F/W 22 creative director Véronique Nichanian decided to venture into the world of sophisticated seduction calling it the “dandy effect.” Masculine grandeur mixed with luxury street style elements like fur-trimmed parkas, cardigan knits with signature motifs, asymmetrical necklines, and even bucket hats set the tone for Nichanian’s take on ultimate elegance. The vibrant color palette of orange, yellow, lettuce green, and pastel blue hues combined with the quintessential tailoring created light playful energy towards the latest collection. The director, Cyril Teste transformed the set by creating a wall of moving tapestries from the Mobilier national to contrast the contemporary silhouettes that combined tilted zip lines on the crocodile jackets amongst other textured tailorings. We couldn’t help but notice the debut of the new twist on the classic Birkin, dubbed “the Rock” with a key chain along the sides made with evercalf leather. Finally, the cashmere silk scarves were another stand-out accessory, which were paired with Chelsea boots to further highlight the suave contemporary theme. Hot-lister Malik Anderson opened the show, and Lars Jammaers, Yoesry Detre, and Ottawa Kwami were among the cast styled by frequent Hermès collaborator Beat Bolliger.
