The 2021 Honorees for the American Image Awards are In
The American Apparel & Fashion Association has revealed the 2021 American Image Awards honorees that will be acknowledged during the virtual event on June 21st. The Fashion & Apparel Association chose “Celebrating Fashion’s Future” as the theme for this year, the honorees are Gabriela Hearst as Designer of the Year, HanesBrands Inc as Company of the Year, Walmart for Retail Innovation of the Year. As for council and coalitions, the Black in Fashion Council is set to receive Fashion Maverick, and the Sustainable Apparel Coalition will be the inaugural recipient of the Eco-Steward of the year. Elsa Perretti, Iconic Jewelry Designer and Top Model, has Died
Italian-born Elsa Peretti, a revolutionary jewelry maker and top model of the 1960s and 1970s, has died in Spain at the age of 80. Peretti was a collaborator with Halston in the 1970s, and it was through him that she met the executives at Tiffany & Co., where her modern take on cuffs, necklaces, and earrings took the market by storm, and at one time accounted for as much as 10% of Tiffany’s jewelry sales. Kaia Gerber to Star in American Horror Story
On Wednesday, in a post to Instagram, American Horror Story show creator Ryan Murphy announced that Kaia Gerber was joining the cast for its 10th season. Little is known about Kaia’s role in the series, but teasers posted by Murphy to social media hint at a sea and sand storyline, possibly involving mermaids or sea sirens. Gerber joins the returning cast of Sarah Paulson, Angelica Ross, and Evan Peters alongside Macauley Culkin. [Dazed]

Jacquemus to Open a Temporary Flower Pop-up Store in Paris
Jacquemus is opening a flower shop in Paris for one week in partnership with Les Fleurs de Paul, run by the Abeille family in the south of France, and Yoann et Marco a digital agency based in Paris. The designer “created a unique bouquet of Renoncules flowers, wrapped in a Jacquemus fabric from previous collections”. In the midst of the Paris lockdown, the creative director is still set on connecting with customers through different routes other than his eponymous clothing line. The store is set to run from March 27th to April 1st and is available to purchase online. [WWD]
