Feng Chen Wang Goes Halfsies for Spring 2019

Designer Feng Chen Wang’s mind for Spring/Summer 2019 delved into the idea of halves becoming whole, whether they be two people coming together or two pieces of clothing merging into one. If you looked backstage, a single garment could have the top of one pinned striped shirt connected to another on its side. Look again and a single pair of melded jeans, fresh from a collaboration with Levi’s, added another meaning to ‘double denim’ alongside technicolor, trompe l’oeil short shorts subtly fused into one. Stylist Anders Solvsten Thomsen worked with a color palette of pinks and blues, that appeared on a spectrum of babyish to fluorescent, and topped looks off with out of this world, three-dimensional accessories in the shape of holding hands. Casting director Arianna Pradarelli included into the runway lineup notable faces like Dylan Fender, Jabali Sandiford, Dylan Christensen, and Bom Chan Lee along with Wang’s first foray into womenswear modelled by Tess Angel and Madison Moehling.
