skirting the issue

If you’re in New York between April 19 and May 31, I’ve got something for you to pencil in — an art installation of Prada skirts that gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “twirl your skirt”. The installation, “Waist Down – Skirts by Miuccia Prada,” was highly successful when it showed in Tokyo and Shanghai — no surprise, because it features more than 100 skirts by Miuccia Prada… animated. In the Tokyo exhibition, skirts glowed, cast funny shadows, spread open like giant jellyfish, and of course — twirled. The show at Prada’s Soho Epicenter store on Broadway will be similar, with some new displays. Sounds amazing to me — not only because of the sheer amount of Prada skirts, but because I am curious to see what the skirts will be doing. And we can all hope that the lovely Prada lipstick skirt will make an appearance… (see pictures below)
