I feel like people, including myself in the past, put too much stress on material gain and career. But at the end of the day, we all want good health and peace of mind. Nothing else really matters.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2014 How did you become a model?<\/strong><br \/>\nI&#8217;ve been a model for as long as I can remember. I did child modeling from 3 to about 15 years old, based out of a Boston agency. My mom signed me up because she felt I was photogenic at a young age.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2014 What is your biggest irrational fear?<\/strong><br \/>\nThat every time a bird flies above me, they will poop. Some of my favorite experiences have come from saying yes to opportunities without having every detail figured out first. A lot of the best things in my life have happened because I took a chance and trusted myself.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2014 What\u2019s the scariest thing you\u2019ve ever done?<\/strong><br \/>\nProbably transitioning as an early teen. It was daunting, but I never really felt like there was another option. At the time, it felt like walking forward with my eyes closed and trusting everything would work out.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2014 How did you become a model?<\/strong><br \/>\nI became a model through a social media model search competition. I entered on a whim and ended up being flown to America to compete. To my surprise, I won the competition, and from there I began modeling full-time. (New York &#8211; mother agency)<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2014 How did you become a model?<\/strong><br \/>\nTo be honest, I\u2019ve always liked the attention. Mostly, I love being in the spotlight. I stood out in the crowd from the start. Growing up in China, I realized at a very young age that there was no way that I was going to fit in with a society where you are constantly forced to conform. As time passed by, I became rebellious. I hated following the rules, and that got me into a lot of trouble in middle school and high school. My head teacher spoke to my parents about me being a little too \u201cexpressive\u201d in an environment that required me to keep my head down. I would take fake Vogue cover pictures sitting in the back of the class. It was silly, but I think it was the time that I was told that you can make something out of this. I became almost obsessed with the idea of getting out of China and coming to America, where I can be free of the constraints of simply being myself. I snatched up the opportunity to go to NYU Shanghai and eventually ended up in New York. Here, I\u2019ve met so many magnificent, talented, and passionate creatives who are mutually supportive and eager to collaborate. And everything kicked off from there.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2014 If you were to choose a song that symbolizes this current phase of your life, what would it be and why?<\/strong><br \/>\nTitane, directed by Julia Ducournau. It is a movie about a serial killer, and she has sex with a car and eventually gives birth to it. It speaks so much about what it feels like to be a woman. The uncomfortable nature of body horror when she tries to conform and hide her identity, and ends up finding a genuine connection with a firefighter captain. In the irony of the gender expressions, she surprisingly finds love and connection. The portrayal of found family in the movie is disgustingly beautiful through and through. Titane still moves me in ways that no other piece of film does. I\u2019m tingling just thinking about it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2014 One thing people may be surprised to find out about you:<\/strong><br \/>\nThat I have that dawg in me in a fight. I found that out when I began to do sparring in Muay Thai. I\u2019m barely emotional when I get punched or hurt.
