I share my birthday with my little sister, who&#8217;s three years younger than me! I used to chide her for stealing my birthday, but she&#8217;s the coolest sister.<br \/>\n2. I was Head Girl at school, which definitely made me as confident as I am now.<br \/>\n3. I think I&#8217;ve tried every hobby possible &#8211; I can never seem to stick to one thing!<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2014 What&#8217;s a favorite book\/movie\/TV show, and why do you love it?<\/strong><br \/>\nBluets by Maggie Nelson. Nelson is a lyrical genius. It is part memoir, prose, poetry, and essay. Bluets is an inquiry into the colour blue, a channel to explore grief, loss, love, lust, longing, obsession, and loneliness. I go back to it all the time whenever I need, and there&#8217;s always something new to learn and explore. It&#8217;s so witty and pithy but touching at the same time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2014 How did you become a model?<\/strong><br \/>\nI have been told before that I should look into modeling. After being scouted a few times, I finally took it seriously and found my wonderful mother agents Marz and Jody. It&#8217;s pure nature, which is my favorite thing about it! Long quiet forest walks where you&#8217;ll meet no one except the occasional deer. The worst thing is that you know everyone knows everyone&#8217;s business!<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2014 If money wasn&#8217;t an obstacle, what would you be doing with your life?<\/strong><br \/>\nI&#8217;d like to be less in my head all the time. Just live &#038; be spontaneous. I have a hard time doing that!<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2014 One thing people may be surprised to find out about you:<\/strong><br \/>\nI am not that much of a people person. When I am out and about, I am very extroverted and have a great time. I love it because it has taught me so many lessons and different ways of handling the bumps in the road of life. I also love how it follows his journey of becoming a working actor, which is a lifelong dream of mine. My favorite movie is Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, directed by the legendary Quentin Tarantino. I love it because it&#8217;s a nostalgic adventure of such a historic and important time in the film industry. It includes some of today&#8217;s best-working actors and some fascinating vintage fashion and music.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2014 What&#8217;s the scariest thing you&#8217;ve ever done?<\/strong><br \/>\nIt would probably be going to live in Milan for modeling at the age of 18 for a month. It was such a leap for me to travel somewhere solo with very little knowledge about where I was going and what I was doing. It was an amazing, pivotal, and maturing experience for me!<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2014 If you were to choose a song that symbolizes this current phase of your life, what would it be and why?<\/strong><br \/>\nTime Will Tell by Bob Marley because, as a young adult in today&#8217;s society, I feel like we can&#8217;t help but compare ourselves to the people we see every day on social media. It can make us feel like we&#8217;re not doing enough each day to reach our dreams. I applied to several kids&#8217; agencies, but none of them wanted me. Several years later, I was in the 1st arrondissement when someone ran into me and offered me a modeling opportunity. That&#8217;s how my story began.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2014 The most interesting thing about your family:<\/strong><br \/>\nMy family is Hausa, specifically from the Gobirawa subgroup. One of the distinguishing features of the Gobirawa is the tradition of facial scarification. My father and my brother have them; I am the only one who does not.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2014 What&#8217;s a favorite book\/movie\/TV show, and why do you love it?<\/strong><br \/>\nMy favorite manga is Naruto! It tells the story of an orphan boy rejected by most of the villagers because of the demon sealed within him. Despite his loneliness and the contempt he faces, he shows exceptional determination and aims to become Hokage, the greatest ninja of his village. Growing up reading this manga has helped me tremendously to become the person I am today because he is a character full of courage and perseverance. I used to be completely bald due to it and my hair has slowly been growing back this past year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2014 The most interesting thing about your family:<\/strong><br \/>\nMy family were\/are all involved in the arts. My dad is an ex ballet dancer who trained at Ballet Rambert London. My Mum is an artist who trained at Central Saint Martins. So my sister and I grew up around creatives and theater, which is why she now works as a course director at RADA for the MA students. In general, we&#8217;re just a very creative family!<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2014 How did you become a model?<\/strong><br \/>\nI was scouted! It was the most surreal experience. My sister and I had decided to go to Peckham Car Boot on a whim. The line was huge, and we almost didn&#8217;t go, but patience is a virtue, so we got in line. We wandered around for a little while and found some cool things: a scarf here, a bag, there, when this woman came up to me and asked if I was a model. I was rather confused and said, &#8216;No, I think you&#8217;re mistaken&#8230;&#8217; or something along those lines. Then she (who I know know as Courtney:)) continued and said she was a model scout. At which point, my sister came bouncing in with so much energy supporting the situation. She&#8217;s really the best! I took her card, and yeah, The Rest Is History. All in all, it was a really good car boot day because afterward, we found some really beautiful Silk chiffon skirts and dresses.
