Having been turned down and disappointed by a local agency at 14 years old when I walked in for an open call, I had no interest in modelling anymore. A few days later I received a message from one of Elmer’s models, whom I went to school with, telling me how he saw great potential in me and would love to meet with me. A few weeks later, I thought I would put my past (rejection) behind me and give it another shot!

Favorite things:
My phone! Yup, guilty! I am addicted to my phone… But hey, who isn’t these days? I’m also an adrenaline junkie. I love go on adventures that just strike up the adrenaline! Like, skydiving, race car driving, zip lining.. This summer shark diving is on the bucket list! In a cage of course.. Come on now, my adrenaline love is not a death wish!

What are you listening to at the moment?
I’m a 90’s baby so I grew up listening to Biggie Smalls, Tupac, Tina Turner.. Etc. I’m a big fan of Rihanna and her music and of course my Canadians Drake and The Weeknd! Shout out to Justin Bieber too… Lol

Favorite movie, tv show:
I’m more of a documentary person rather than keeping up with a TV series. I love to watch documentaries on inspiring people. My favourites are based on George Mallory and Beethoven who are in fact my two idols. My favourite movies are 7 Pounds starring Will Smith, Sherlock Holmes 1, Limitless, and Life of Pi. Titanic is always a classic.. Lol.

Favorite designer, fragrance or beauty product:
Bright Crystal by Versace by day, Mademoiselle by Chanel by night ;) I’ve been using these fragrances for years and it seems I have separation anxiety from them. As much as I love another fragrance scent, I always come running back! “Ivoire” concealer by Lancôme is a life saver, literally. No matter how big the blemish is, or how many nights you haven’t slept, the concealer will leave you looking flawless! As for my style, Balmain never ceases to amaze me each season. Definitely one of my favourite brands.

What would you be doing if you weren’t modeling?
When Elmer Olsen found me, I was in school studying to be a heart surgeon. Crazy turn of paths, right? Lol. I had a huge passion for saving people’s lives. While I tried to juggle school and modelling at the same time, I realized that it wasn’t particularly the heart surgery I was so passionate about, it was helping people in need and I could do that in so many different ways. So I took on modelling full time, and I now partake in a few charities and wanting to expand. The goal is to travel to third world countries, document issues and help change things for the better. Speaking of documenting, here’s another turn of paths! Being a model, I grew an interest in what goes on behind the camera, and what it takes to get that picture perfect shot! So I also see myself working behind the camera in the future! Particularly directing and making films and documentaries.

What’s something uncool that you love anyway?
I don’t know how “uncool” this is, but I love to collect foreign money and souvenirs from the places I travel to! Even if I have to go out of my way to get a souvenir from the place I’m in, I will! I can’t tell you how many flights I nearly missed because of this… Lol

Favorite modeling experience so far?
There have been many highlights in the past few years of modelling but one of my favourite moments would have to be walking for Alexander McQueen. I am such a huge fan of his vision and art. It was definitely a surreal moment.

What’s the best thing about your hometown/country?
I moved to Canada when I was 5 years old and I grew up in Toronto. Living between New York and Paris, I miss the calmness that comes from home. As big of a city Toronto is, you can drive an hour up north and be surrounded by mountains and fields of nothing. I’m a skier, so I love to go home in the winter months and go skiing. And as big of a city girl I am, I love to get away for a weekend to a cottage and have bonfires with close friends.

Which brand would you really love to model for?
Lancôme, I’m waiting on you!! Haha, the dream is to strike a beauty campaign. I love to shoot beauty! I also heard stories of how fun it is to shoot with Ellen Von Unwerth so it would be cool to experience that!

Place you would love to visit:
The Jim Corbett National Park! The jungle is located in India which I’ve been waiting to explore itself but experiencing the Nainital jungle is definitely on the to-do list!

Currently you’re obsessed with/about:
I’ve began to read “A Million Little Pieces” by James Frey and I can’t take my hands off it! A very interesting read if you’re into a dark reality of ones hope to recovery.

Dajana Antic, 23, from Toronto, went from studying to become a heart surgeon to the catwalk of Alexander McQueen.
