How discovered:
Unlike other models, the “scout business card” story never happened to me. I came to this field on my own. After finishing my study at a fashion institute in Milan, I sent Fabbrica Milano some of my pictures, which were mostly school editorial assignments that I shot as a model for some schoolmates. Then I got signed, fortunately.

Best modeling experience so far?
I’d probably be doing nothing until now if I didn’t start modeling in the first place. It happened in a very special period of my life when I was struggling with my bipolar disorder. Not exaggerating that ‘modeling saved my life’ but I personally do believe this job has been helping me a lot to build up my personality, I’ve seen myself getting stronger and tougher since. After modeling, I wish to open a farm or a bookstore with my friends, a space where everyone is welcomed and homed.

Currently you’re obsessed with/about:
I’m currently obsessed with the ukulele, I bring it with me anywhere I go. It’s a handy musical instrument/toy, highly recommended for travel.

What’s the best thing about your hometown/country?
Noodles! My hometown Shanxi is famous for noodles, in China it’s well-known as “the origin of Noodles” or “the Province of Noodles” — there are hundreds of types of noodles there. If you are a noodle-lover you definitely need to give it a try.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
“Everyone has their own time zone.” We are all set in this high-speed society where people rush living their lives. Many believe there are certain patterns that tell you at what age you have to accomplish certain things otherwise you’re going to fall behind. I consider this as false instead, it’s more important to get to know yourself and always keep your own pace. We are very much on time in our own time zone.
