— If you were to choose a song that symbolizes this current phase of your life, what would it be and why?
Nothing Even Matters by Lauryn Hill. I feel like people, including myself in the past, put too much stress on material gain and career. But at the end of the day, we all want good health and peace of mind. Nothing else really matters.
— How did you become a model?
I’ve been a model for as long as I can remember. I did child modeling from 3 to about 15 years old, based out of a Boston agency. My mom signed me up because she felt I was photogenic at a young age.
— What is your biggest irrational fear?
That every time a bird flies above me, they will poop. I have an irrational fear of birds in general, especially NYC ones, cuz they are way too comfortable near you.

— One thing people may be surprised to find out about you:
I love a bit of chaos. Some of my favorite experiences have come from saying yes to opportunities without having every detail figured out first. A lot of the best things in my life have happened because I took a chance and trusted myself.
— What’s the scariest thing you’ve ever done?
Probably transitioning as an early teen. It was daunting, but I never really felt like there was another option. At the time, it felt like walking forward with my eyes closed and trusting everything would work out.
— How did you become a model?
I became a model through a social media model search competition. I entered on a whim and ended up being flown to America to compete. To my surprise, I won the competition, and from there I began modeling full-time. It completely changed the direction of my life and opened doors I never imagined possible.

— How did you become a model?
To be honest, I’ve always liked the attention. Mostly, I love being in the spotlight. I stood out in the crowd from the start. Growing up in China, I realized at a very young age that there was no way that I was going to fit in with a society where you are constantly forced to conform. As time passed by, I became rebellious. I hated following the rules, and that got me into a lot of trouble in middle school and high school. My head teacher spoke to my parents about me being a little too “expressive” in an environment that required me to keep my head down. I would take fake Vogue cover pictures sitting in the back of the class. It was silly, but I think it was the time that I was told that you can make something out of this. I became almost obsessed with the idea of getting out of China and coming to America, where I can be free of the constraints of simply being myself. I snatched up the opportunity to go to NYU Shanghai and eventually ended up in New York. Here, I’ve met so many magnificent, talented, and passionate creatives who are mutually supportive and eager to collaborate. And everything kicked off from there.
— If you were to choose a song that symbolizes this current phase of your life, what would it be and why?
Titane, directed by Julia Ducournau. It is a movie about a serial killer, and she has sex with a car and eventually gives birth to it. It speaks so much about what it feels like to be a woman. The uncomfortable nature of body horror when she tries to conform and hide her identity, and ends up finding a genuine connection with a firefighter captain. In the irony of the gender expressions, she surprisingly finds love and connection. The portrayal of found family in the movie is disgustingly beautiful through and through. Titane still moves me in ways that no other piece of film does. I’m tingling just thinking about it.
— One thing people may be surprised to find out about you:
That I have that dawg in me in a fight. I found that out when I began to do sparring in Muay Thai. I’m barely emotional when I get punched or hurt. That gives me a lot of leverage in fighting because it gives me the ability to react instead of anticipating.

— An issue or cause you are passionate about:
I am passionate about self-development, mental well-being, environmental issues, and animal protection. I strongly dislike any harm toward those who are weaker or unable to defend themselves. I believe we have a responsibility to treat nature and living beings with respect and care.
— How did you become a model?
I became a model thanks to my active presence on Instagram, where a scout from my agency discovered me. At first, I was quite skeptical about the offer, so I asked to speak directly with the agency’s director. We ended up having a long call that lasted about four hours, and after that conversation, I felt confident in the authenticity and potential of their proposal.
— Share a bit about your background and upbringing.
I grew up in a matriarchal environment raised by my grandmother, mother, and aunt. My grandmother taught me how to grow vegetables and never give up. My mother taught me love, patience, and always believed in me. My aunt influenced my sense of style and fashion, and I often observed her when I was a child, which shaped my aesthetic sense…
