I’m originally from Edo State, Nigeria, and the best thing about my hometown is its rich cultural heritage, such as the ancient Benin Kingdom, including the historic Oba Palace, Igun Bronze Casters, and the extensive, ancient Benin Moat. It’s the heartbeat of Nigeria. I’d say the worst thing is the stereotype that people from Edo State are witches.

— Can you tell us about your happiest childhood memory?
My best moment during my childhood was… getting a dog. I had really had my pacifier for a long time. I was 5 when I gave up my pacifier for the first time. I kept using it until the moment my father and mother said, “If you stop using your pacifier, you will get a dog from us.” And sure enough, I stopped using it, and that same week I got my dog (Justie, a White Shepherd). I was so incredibly happy. To this day, I still remember how it happened. I enjoyed my dog so much 😊

I was raised in a very protective environment by my parents. They also taught me that I am allowed to have my own opinions, as long as I express them in a polite and respectful way. I was raised with strong values, including showing respect to others. Of course, this also means I can have my own point of view. I am a very kind and friendly person, and I get along well with others. I am also helpful, and I am a true animal lover.

— What’s a story your family/friends like to tell about you?
When I was 15, I was in Venice with my sister. After a long walk, we decided to grab something to eat and sat on the steps near a building. While I was eating, I got distracted for a moment to say something to my sister, and a seagull took advantage of that and snatched the sandwich right out of my hands. It happened so fast that I only realized what had happened a few seconds later. My sister laughed at me for the rest of the day. She still loves to bring it up and tell the story to her friends.

— What is your biggest irrational fear?
My biggest irrational fear is not making something of myself.

— Tell us about your hometown.
I was born and live in the city of Edineț, which is in northern Moldova. I find this city very comfortable because it’s small and has everything you need for daily life. We have a nice park where you can relax, and it’s the largest park in the north of the country. There are no clubs here, so you can’t really go out for a “lively” night, but I see this as a positive. 1 The only downside is probably that the city is very small and everyone knows each other. The population is about 20,000 people. Overall, I enjoy living here; everything is literally within a 15-minute walk.
