— What’s an essential part of your daily routine?
Every morning before I start my day, I like to stretch and practice yoga. It clears my mind and helps me feel centered and ready for whatever the day brings.
— Tell us about your hometown.
Growing up in Los Angeles meant living in constant contrast, from quiet mornings at the beach to busy afternoons in the city. LA has its own energy— electric, unpredictable, and unlike any other place in the world. There’s always something new to explore, whether it’s a neighborhood café, a local shop, or a scenic hiking trail. The downside is its unpredictability, from seasonal fires to natural disasters.
— What are 3 interesting facts about you?
I speak three languages — German, English, and Spanish — and am learning French. I love to draw and paint, and I carry a sketchbook with me almost everywhere I go. Baking is another part of my life, and I like to make fresh sourdough bread from scratch almost every day.

— What is your biggest irrational fear?
Spiders! I don’t care if it’s big or small, real or on a screen. Last year, a spider jumped at me from the roof of a bus stop, so I’m traumatised.
— Share a bit about your background and upbringing.
Looking back, I had a pretty normal upbringing. There were some struggles, but everyone has those. I’m Surinamese, born in the Netherlands, and both my parents are from Suriname. When I was little, I went there every year, and last summer I finally got to be back in Suriname again after 17/18 years. What I love about my parents is that they always let me do what I want and support what I’m passionate about. I was always placed in a creative, cultured school. Until now, haha. But growing up, I learned a lot.
— What are 3 interesting facts about you?
1. I’m currently in my last year of my bachelor’s in arts.
2. I love to do styling work.
3. I can fall asleep everywhere: bus, train, Uber, on the ground, etc.

— What’s a story your family/friends like to tell about you?
They always tell the story of how my parents adopted me (gave me a second chance), which reminds me how lucky and happy I am to have a wonderful family and amazing friends.
— If you were to choose a song that symbolizes this current phase of your life, what would it be and why?
The song “Valórat” makes me feel very fulfilled; the artist is Nitto. I also like the artist Cruz Cafuné. Music is my escape, my motivation, and my way to connect with my emotions. It has the power to lift me up, calm me down, and make me feel understood even when no one else is around. It’s not just sound, it’s a part of who I am.
— How did you become a model?
I went to a casting at a shopping mall in my city that I knew POP HOUSE was organizing. Being a model had always been my dream, and I’m very happy to be part of this world and of my mother agency.

— What’s a favorite book/movie/TV show, and why do you love it?
My favorite book is Out Of Africa. It depicts a woman’s journey from dependence to independence in the wilderness of Africa, breaking free from societal norms and completing her own reshaping while also gaining true freedom.
— What advice would you give to models who are considering entering the modeling industry later in life? Are there any key lessons or insights you wish you had known earlier in your career?
The most important thing is to learn to turn one’s perceived physical flaws into unique characteristics, establish strong confidence, and not be influenced by the market or others. I really hope to gain some key insights in the early stages of my career, which can help me smoothly navigate through this new phase.
— What’s an essential part of your daily routine?
Cultivating my own interests and hobbies more. Maintaining a passion for things that interest me, and make my life fulfilling and interesting.

— How did you become a model?
I ran away from my comfort zone. Started making haircut content with my barber (Enzo Fungo) for his Instagram and TikTok, when one thing led to another, and I got scouted by a photographer in Calgary (Elmer Eraña) who connected me with the best agency in the city, and by far one of the best in Canada: MODE MODELS.
— Tell us about your hometown.
I am originally from Paita, Peru, but I’ve lived in Calgary, Canada, since I was 5. The best things about my hometown in Peru are the culture and the fish; the worst is probably the sound of giant fishing vessels. The best part of Calgary is that the Rocky Mountains are an hour and a half away; the worst part is that I don’t already live in the mountains.

— What’s a story your family/friends like to tell about you?
When I was a kid, I was scared of swimming pools because I thought they had sharks. One day, my parents signed me up for swimming lessons, and I would not enter the pool. I was running around trying to escape. Then every single adult in the lesson circled around me, caught me, and threw me in the pool lol. Afterwards, I became one of the best swimmers in the class.
— An issue or cause you are passionate about:
People being rude on social media. I believe that social media has a lot of benefits, but it has a lot of negatives as well. Nowadays, everybody is obsessed with their looks and how they appear to people. This obsession leads to people bringing others down so they can feel better about themselves, and so they can appeal to those who think the same way. This toxic mindset continues to have a negative impact on teenagers and adults as well. There are plenty more, but this one came to mind first.
— What’s an essential part of your daily routine?
Playing basketball. I love basketball so much because it has gotten me through really tough times, and it is an amazing way to stay active. Not to mention all the brothers and friendships that I have made. I have been playing since I was about 10 years old, and I have not looked back since.
