Austin

Who:
Austin Loughrey — @treeswithcrows — American from Kansas City, Missouri, USA — born July 9th — 186 cm / 6’1″ — he/him.

Where:
True Model Management (New York), Arizona Model Management (Tucson – mother agency)

— Tell us about your hometown.
The best thing about Kansas City is the skate community. I love skating at different parks all around the city and having friends at every one. The worst part is that there is very little else to do once they shut the lights off on us.

— One thing people may be surprised to find out about you:
I lived on a canal boat for a month in the UK.

— How did you become a model?
I had done a few fashion shows for my friends and had a blast doing so. So I reached out to my now-mother agent and asked her if she would be interested in signing me!

Elisabeth

Who:
Elisabeth Uhl — @elliuhl — German from Osnabrück, Germany — born October 16th — 179 cm / 5’10.5″ — she/her.

Where:
Modelwerk (Hamburg – mother agency), Monster Management Paris, Monster Management (Milan), Monster Management Spain (Madrid)

— What are 3 interesting facts about you?
1. Not the fact itself is so interesting, but it makes for interesting stories. I love travelling. My favorite trip has been the one to South America, but I also enjoyed Australia very much.
2. I am the youngest of four children, which most people are surprised to hear that I have not 1 or 2 but 3 older siblings. I guess it isn’t quite common in Germany to have a family that big.
3. When I was younger, I loved riding my unicycle. It got to a point where I started to perform at a circus.

— What is your biggest irrational fear?
My worst fear is that I wake up one morning, look in the mirror, and realize I’m not even Elisabeth Uhl, but a completely different person, and my whole life up until this point has just been a dream.

— How did you become a model?
I’d say the most conventional way possible – I applied while I was still in uni studying psychology and economics. I’ve sent my polas just before leaving for a two-month trip, and when I got positive feedback back, we set up a Zoom call and date to meet once I was back in Germany. It was fun taking walking and introduction videos for the agency in busy hostel dorms.

Jan

Who:
Jan Figols — @janfigols — Spanish from Berga, Barcelona Spain — born June 19th — 187 cm / 6’1.5″ — he/him.

Where:
Established Models (London), Elite Spain (Barcelona – mother agency), Elite Milan

— One thing people may be surprised to find out about you:
If you don’t know me, you might think I’m a shy and serious person because of the way I am. But once I gain confidence, I’m a very outgoing and fun person.

— What’s an essential part of your daily routine?
Waking up in the morning, having a glass of warm milk and a sandwich for breakfast, and going to the gym. After that, I can start the day well.

— Tell us about your hometown.
My hometown, where I have returned to live after spending some time away, is Berga. It is a small city located in the Pre-Pyrenees with around 18,000 inhabitants. The best thing about living in Berga is its popular festival, La Patum, a celebration declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, and one that everyone should experience at least once in their life. I couldn’t say anything bad about my city.

Malik

Who:
Malik Derdak — @malikderdak — Canadian from Toronto, Canada — born September 18th — 185 cm / 6’1″ — he/him.

Where:
WANT MANAGEMENT (Toronto – mother agency), Metropolitan / M Management / Makers (Paris), PRESENT MODEL MANAGEMENT (London), Blow Models (Barcelona)

— Share a bit about your background and upbringing.
I grew up on the south side of Toronto with just my mom. We didn’t have much, so when I was small, it felt like just me and my mom against the world. Toronto was never an easy city to grow up in. I felt like I didn’t fit in a lot as a kid. I wouldn’t say my life was the easiest growing up, but it certainly could have been much worse, and for that, I’ll always be grateful to my family and friends for never letting me stray from my path or fall into bad habits.

— Can you tell us about your happiest childhood memory?
One of my happiest memories as a kid was looking for four-leaf clovers in the park with my dog Mookie. One day, when we were out, we found a 5-leaf clover!

— What’s the scariest thing you’ve ever done?
The scariest thing I’ve ever done is probably leaving home at 18 to go model in China for 3 months. It was really daunting at first, because I rarely left Canada growing up, especially never on my own. To go to the other side of the planet at 18 was a huge step for me. In the end, it was probably one of the best things to have happened to me.

Song

Who:
Song Xinying — @xinying_0725 — Chinese from Shandong, China — born July 25th — 177 cm / 5’9.5″ — she/her.

Where:
SMG MODEL MANAGEMENT (Guangzhou), Muse Management (New York), The Claw (Paris), The Claw (Milan)

— How did you become a model?
When I was about to graduate from university, I sent an email to my current mother agency and submitted my photos without makeup to them. Then I started my modeling career.

— If you were to choose a song that symbolizes this current phase of your life, what would it be and why?
Twelve Letters of Roy Wang. In the song, the singer describes his journey from a naive child chasing his dreams to the present, filled with both luck and setbacks, courage and determination. Just like my career, although there are moments of hesitation and self-doubt along the way, I still move forward resolutely without giving up.

— What’s a favorite book/movie/TV show, and why do you love it?
One of my favorite movies is The Avengers. It offers thrilling action scenes and stunning visual effects. The characters in the movie experience personal growth and transformation. They become stronger in the face of failure and pain, and learn to rely on and cooperate with each other. This united force is truly impressive.

Leslie

Who:
Leslie Vénus — French from Paris, France — born July 16th — 178 cm / 5’10” — she/her.

Where:
Scope (Paris), Maxence Orard (Paris)

— What’s a favorite book/movie/TV show, and why do you love it?
My favorite book is THE PROPHET by Khalil Gibran, which is a beautiful observation of what human relationships should be like, and my favorite film is VAS, VIS ET DEVIENS because you have to know how to let go, you have to know how to leave to become, without forgetting where you come from.

— What do you hope to see change or improve within the fashion industry in the future?
What I would like to see disappear in the fashion industry is the use of fur and exotic leathers, as well as heels (no, it’s a joke), but uncomfortable shoes.

— If money wasn’t an obstacle, what would you be doing with your life?
If money were no obstacle, I would have animal shelters and sanctuaries, several of them on every continent. I would also open schools and hospitals for women, girls, and abused boys.
