— How did you become a model?
It was an impromptu meeting with my agent on my university campus that started it all! While I had researched becoming a model with the agency I ultimately signed with, I didn’t apply. But, as luck would have it, while I was on campus with one of my coursemates during our “freshers” week – my agent walked up and scouted me! From there, I attended a workshop at the agency. The people I met and the environment at the agency made me want to pursue a career in modeling!

— What are 3 interesting facts about you?
1. Not too long ago, I was a competitive swimmer. Through both Swim England and my swimming academy, I had the opportunity to travel to numerous countries for major swimming events. During my time as a swimmer, I garnered accolades, including a gold medal at nationals.
2. I am a self-taught pianist! I have always been musically inclined and drawn to playing an instrument. While I had free time at home, I would perfect my craft. My two favorite songs to play are Fur Elise (Beethoven) and Another Love (Tom Odell).
3. Finally, I love traveling and exploring, so during the rare free weekend at university, I will book a spontaneous trip. A great example of this is when I decided to climb up Snowdon in Wales in the middle of term.

— Can you tell us about your happiest childhood memory?
My happiest childhood memory is creating an entirely new lifeform with my brother. My brother and I always loved to explore and make new inventions together. One day, we used this toy cauldron and mixed every ingredient in the house that we could find. A few days went by, we came back to find some weird, backwards swimming tadpoles swimming around in the cauldron. We had no idea what they were, so we named them ‘Elidyls.’

— What is your biggest irrational fear?
My biggest irrational fear is being dropped in the middle of the ocean. A deep sea often gives me a bit of anxiety because I don’t know what’s (swimming) underneath me. I can already imagine the feeling I would get if this happened. No thanks, haha! Or maybe I’ve just seen too many scary shark movies.

— What’s an essential part of your daily routine?
At the end of the day, I always like to have a nice cup of tea in peace. I either do this alone with some calm music in the background, or I make it a cozy moment with my family.

— How did you become a model?
I have been scouted a few times, on Instagram and in real life. The first time it happened, I was still quite young; I was just about to turn 15 years old. I noticed that I was not ready for modeling and decided to let it go. Later, when I was scouted a few more times, I decided to give it a try. Now I am here, and I am already very happy with all the things I have achieved since I started a year and a bit ago. I never thought this all would happen to me, but it did!

— What’s a favorite book/movie/TV show, and why do you love it?
My favorite movie is Green Book. I was deeply moved by the way the story unfolds — seeing how Shirley continues his concerts while facing discrimination and how their relationship evolves from the beginning, gradually changing the other person’s perspective.

— How did you become a model?
I became interested in modeling when I saw a Kenzo show in high school, and in my second year of university, I auditioned for a modeling agency.

— Share a bit about your background and upbringing.
I was born at a countryside temple in Japan, and from a young age, I grew up in a place filled with Japanese culture. Surrounded by rich nature, I spent my time playing in the mountains and by the sea. My whole family loves animals, so I was always surrounded by them, and that life was full of joy.

— Tell us about your hometown.
I’m from Juba, South Sudan. The best things I enjoy in my hometown are the traditional foods, the weather, and spending time with my family. The things I hate are the wars, corruption, and poverty in the country and the corrupt government.

— If you were to choose a song that symbolizes this current phase of your life, what would it be and why?
‘Young and Beautiful’ by Lana del Rey speaks to my current phase because it’s a song that grapples with questions about love, identity, and self-worth. It’s like asking, ‘Will I still be loved when things change?’ and that kind of uncertainty feels very real right now.

— What are 3 interesting facts about you?
1. I have a scar on my head, and that’s why I’m bald.
2. I was bullied in school because of my height and color and scars, and now all those who bullied me are on my DMs saying how proud they are of me.
3. I hated myself growing up.

— What’s a favorite book/movie/TV show, and why do you love it?
I’m obsessed with Japanese anime, especially ‘Attack on Titan,’ which makes me think deeply about life’s realities and human struggles. When I’m not watching anime, I’m listening to Lana Del Rey– her songs resonate with me on a different level. Korean dramas are another favorite of mine, with complex stories and characters.

— Can you tell us about your happiest childhood memory?
Man, I was such a wild kid! Never stayed indoors, always out exploring. I’d spend hours by the pond, swimming and playing with my cows and buffaloes, or climbing trees to grab mangoes, jamuns, and tamarinds—our village was like a paradise! But getting home late always meant trouble—my mom would scold me. Guess I was a bit of a handful back then!

— How did you become a model?
To be honest, I never thought I’d be a model. As a kid, I was super short and didn’t exactly fit the typical mold. I was more about cricket than catwalks! But life had other plans. After the pandemic, I hit a growth spurt and changed physically. Social media played a big role; I’d watch modeling reels and think, “Why not me?” It sparked something in me, and I decided to take the leap. Now, here I am, chasing my newfound passion for modeling. It’s crazy how life can shift your path.

— An issue or cause you are passionate about:
One issue I genuinely care about is gender equality. Growing up, I’ve seen how women often have to work twice as hard to get the same recognition or freedom. My mother has always been a big inspiration, managing everything so strongly and still giving me the space to grow, learn, and be independent. I believe everyone, regardless of gender, should have equal chances to follow their dreams, speak up, and feel valued. Even today, I notice subtle ways in which women are expected to adjust more or stay quiet, and I think those patterns need to change. As a creative person and a design student, I hope to bring more awareness to this through my work by representing strong, free voices and making meaningful choices in what I create. Change doesn’t always have to be loud; sometimes, it starts with what we choose to stand for in our everyday lives.

— One thing people may be surprised to find out about you:
People often assume I’m super girly, shy, and calm when they first see me—like this quiet, soft-energy kind of person. I still remember my roommate telling me that when she saw me for the first time, she thought I’d be all reserved and delicate. But then the real me showed up. I’m actually a total goofball. I’m loud, funny, and honestly, a whole entertainer. I scream songs at the top of my lungs, do random weird dances in the room, and act like a full-on drama queen just for fun. Once people get to know me, they’re like, Wait, THIS is who you really are?!” Yup. Dumb, funny, and proud.

— Tell us about your hometown.
My hometown is Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh, India. The best part about it? It holds my childhood. Every summer vacation, we’d visit my grandparents’ house, and it used to be filled with warmth, laughter, and the chaos of family, my maasis, siblings, friends, everyone together under one roof. We used to play endlessly, make memories, and live those carefree days that now feel like magic. As for the worst part, honestly, there’s nothing bad about the place itself. It’s just the bittersweet feeling of having to leave it behind every time the vacation ended. Saying goodbye after all that love and comfort was the hardest part.
