— Your most embarrassing moment:
My most embarrassing moment happened when I was seven during a trial Olympic gymnastics class; we were practicing a series of basic moves on the balance beam. My challenge was to do a simple side jump over the beam. I was confident, but when I pushed off, I ended up tripping over the beam and falling sideways, getting stuck between the beam and the floor. It was an awkward moment, with my body half hanging and half falling. I stood up, laughing at myself as I tried to free myself from the awkward position. Despite the awkward moment, it was impossible not to laugh at the situation, and it ended up becoming a fun memory of my attempts at Olympic gymnastics.

— What are three interesting facts about you?
1. I really love music and consider it an essential part of my life. I’m always listening to music from a wide range of styles, from classical to contemporary, pop, rock, electronic, and much more. Music not only provides me with inspiration, but also helps me with many situations.
2. I have a great passion for volleyball! Although I may not be considered the best player, I find immense joy in participating and cherishing every moment. For me, volleyball is not just a sport; it’s a wonderful opportunity to spend quality time with friends and stay active and healthy. Additionally, I have the honor of closely following professional matches, especially to support my father, who is a volleyball coach. It’s incredible to share this special connection with the sport both on and off the court.
3. Another interesting fact about me is that I am a vegetarian by choice. For me, this decision goes beyond just dietary choices; it’s a way of living in alignment with my ethical values and environmental concerns. I feel a strong sense of empathy towards animals and believe that choosing a plant-based diet is a meaningful way to reduce my impact on the environment. Additionally, I have found that exploring a variety of plant-based foods has been an incredibly enriching culinary journey, leading me to discover new flavors and delicious dishes.

Currently, Melanie Martinez stands out as a figure I deeply admire. Her authenticity and unique appearance are truly captivating, shining brightly in a landscape where conformity often prevails. I admire her courage in tackling heavy themes without fear of criticism, and her ability to stay true to herself is a constant source of inspiration. Not to mention, all of her songs are incredible!

I admire my parents. They have so much light and power inside of them, even though they probably don’t really realize it. I am beyond grateful to have their blood flowing through me.

— How did you become a model?
I was scouted multiple times when I was still a teenager, but never took the opportunities the way I should have. I had my own mental stuff going on, and I still do, but now I finally realized that no matter how you feel, do what you want and don’t let those ‘demons’ control you.

— The most interesting thing about your family:
We are an immigrant family, and becoming a model wasn’t that ideal. After a while, my parents started to acknowledge what I was doing and became super interested. — What’s the last thing you Googled?
Opening times of a swimming pool.

— Tell us about your hometown.
I live in a small town called Apeldoorn in the Netherlands. The best thing about here is the surrounding forest! I really love walking around the forest and seeing so much green. Also, haha, the smell of the forest calms me, especially after going into the busy cities. The worst thing is… you cannot find good matcha coffee; I don’t think it’s popular here yet.

— How did you become a model?
It was a meeting of fate: when I moved to Poland to study in the city of Szczecin, I started thinking about trying to start a modeling career. I started looking for mother agencies in my city or nearby. I came across the website of Neva Models agency and their Instagram page, which I started following. I was thinking of sending my snaps sooner or later. Several months passed. One day, my friend and I ended up in a shopping mall food court, although we had planned to go to a completely different location. While standing and ordering something at McDonald’s, I noticed a lady staring at me, but I didn’t pay attention to it. When I was at the checkout ordering, she approached me and introduced herself as the director of Neva Models agency. My shock knew no bounds. Then came the first meeting, the second, the third… and then I signed the contract. A random trip to McDonald’s changed my life; sounds like a fairy tale, doesn’t it?

— Tell us about your hometown.
My hometown is Donetsk in Ukraine. The most developed industrial region in the country and one of the richest cities in the country. I loved this city for the warmth and comfort it gave me. Every year we planted a million roses. But because of the war, all the glories of the city have faded into oblivion.

— Who is your favorite entertainer?
This is Whitney Houston, unequivocally. Pop music and disco icon, my own icon. I grew up on her songs. As a little boy, I ran in front of the TV, threw a blanket over myself, took a comb in my hand and sang in an angelic voice “I Have Nothing”.  It was an unforgettable time; I miss those moments.
