— How did you become a model?
I actually applied. It’s funny; I needed to work for the summer, and I was just planning on being a receptionist or working in an office again. I had always wanted a career in modeling and decided to just apply and see what would happen. When I told my mom I got a job interview, I don’t think this was what she expected at all! Her jaw dropped when I told her who it was that got back to me. Now, I get to be a part of something that I consider myself to be so lucky and grateful for.

— One thing people may be surprised to find out about you:

I sing! I have been singing ever since I can remember. All I ever want to do (besides model) is write and sing. I play piano by ear and just make little songs and melodies all the time. If I could be successful with anything in the end, I would hope it was music!

— If you could talk to your younger self, what advice would you give?
I think I’d have a lot to say to him. For one, I’d tell him not to be too upset about the little things that happen or the things people say that get under his skin and to be more kind. I’d tell him that people don’t understand him the way they think they do and that that’s alright. I’d also tell him to ditch the side part, most importantly… I might just cut it off for him myself.

— What is the best and worst aspect of your personality?
The best aspect of my personality is that I really take into consideration people’s choices, while my worst is that I find it hard to trust people.

I was scouted at church after service about three months ago.

— One thing you never want to do again:
Not talking about my boundaries. When I started modeling, I was quite young. I wanted to work hard and please everyone. Modeling was my biggest dream back then, and I had the feeling I didn’t want to let myself or anyone else down, so I just said yes to everything even though my mental health started to suffer under those circumstances. Now, I still like to work hard, and I am still passionate, but I definitely will not risk feeling uncomfortable or unhappy to succeed in this industry.

— An issue or cause you are passionate about:
I’m really passionate about refugee politics. When the Ukrainian war started in 2022, I was really happy to see all the support coming from all around the world but shocked to see how much better they were treated than POC refugees. In Germany, they had housing opportunities, could get jobs, go to university, and support groups to help get around. This is the right way to treat a person who had to flee from these horrible circumstances. The shocking part about it is the treatment that non-European refugees got back in 2015 when there was the biggest wave of people who had to flee. I just want everyone to be equal, no matter their skin tone. So, I try my best to help every refugee and voice my opinion on that topic as well as I can.

— Who is your favorite entertainer?
My favorite entertainer definitely would have to be Rihanna. I looked up to her my whole life. She is loud, fierce, and revolutionary, and especially as a woman, I had to learn to find my space and take it with pride. We’re always told not to stand out, and she gave me that strength to stand out.

My great-great-grandfather traveled around the world and collected exotic birds and animals. After the revolution and the advent of the Soviet authorities, an animal reserve was made from his collection.

— Who is someone you admire and why?
Wow, there are so many people in this world and even more in the past to admire. But since this is a brief for models.com, I would name the people I admire in the fashion industry, like the incredible photographer Tim Walker. For me, each of his pictures is like a gateway to an absolutely incredible story. And designer Alessandro Michele, it’s just the quintessence of magic.

I went on a trip with my best friend to Warsaw. When I was doing grocery shopping, a scouter found me, and after a week, we met to sign the contract. That’s how I became a model.
