— What’s your most prized possession and why?
I would say books that I own. Reading has helped me transform my mind and body and improve my life in every aspect.

1. Even though I’m a model, I still think that I’m average looking.
2. I love learning new things, so I listen to a podcast a day.
3. I pay very close attention to aerodynamics in almost everything I do.
— Who is your favorite entertainer?
At the moment, it’s Shawn Stevenson from the podcast “Model Health Show”. His content is very informative and has helped me to transform my body and mind.

— How did you become a model?
I was approached by several scouts when I was 13 years old, but I didn’t know much about the fashion or modeling world. My mom thought it could be interesting to give it a try, and I signed with my mother agency.
— Who is someone you admire?
My mom is my role model. She’s raised me and taught me everything I know.
— What are three interesting facts about you:
1. My mom is Russian, and my dad is German, but I was born in Barcelona, Spain.
2. My parents named me Anastasia after Anastasia Avenue in Miami, where they met.
3. I loooooooove shopping.

— One thing people may be surprised to find out about you:
The fact that I’m partly Surinamese. A lot of people don’t believe me when I say it because I look white, but my grandpa is from Paramaribo, Surinam. Unfortunately, I didn’t grow up with the culture because my grandpa didn’t raise my dad with any of his culture. Now we are trying to stay a little bit connected with the Surinamese culture by cooking foods that are a part of the Surinamese kitchen and learning a bit of the language.
— Who is your favorite entertainer?
Childish Gambino, AKA Donald Glover, is the renaissance man of our time. He is an actor, producer, writer, director, comedian, rapper/singer, DJ, and songwriter. He’s one of the most talented people I know and also very inspiring. His music has a huge variety of genres, and I love it all. He was my second most listened-to artist this year on Spotify and also has two spots in my top 5 songs of this year!
— The most interesting thing about your family:
My parents, my sister, and I are super close. We are also all very passionate about music, so we have this thing we call the “Soufflé”, which is a super big playlist we make every summer and winter. Everyone gets to put around 50 songs in it that they like so that every time we’re together at home or in the car, everyone is happy with the music. We also make random playlists every week or so, with very specific themes where everyone puts 15 songs in it that match the theme.

— How did you become a model?
It wasn’t my choice, I went to check out a new café in my hometown, and some guys from a hair salon gave me a card and told me they will cut my hair for free and take a photo of me. I was like, ‘what a beautiful deal, let’s do it’, and there I met a photographer who showed me to some agencies.
— Who is your favourite entertainer?
Mick Jagger, of course. I love seeing how he and the Rolling Stones have rocked the scene since the 60s and are still exploding with the same energy.
— The most interesting thing about your family:
My grandmother from my mother’s side is a costume designer and the other grandmother is a hairstylist.

1. Social media stresses me out.
2. I enrolled myself as a psychology and English Literature student before I started modeling.
3. When I was little, I swallowed a coin that obstructed my throat for 18 days.
— What are you super interested in that most people have never heard of?
Nephology – A branch of meteorology dealing with clouds.
— Who is your favorite entertainer?
Phoebe Waller-Bridge is my favorite entertainer. She’s the creator of my favorite shows and the best-written tv series of all time. Fleabag, Crashing, and Killing Eve stars female characters that are NOT defined by the men in their lives, but female characters who are reckless, complex, real, and unpredictable, and I love that I’ll never get tired of watching flawed women on screen.

— How did you become a model?
When I was young, I dreamed of becoming a basketball player. But after a serious injury, I quit basketball. When I was frustrated and lost, my teachers and friends recommended I become a model, and that was the beginning of my career as a model.
— One thing people may be surprised to find out about you:
Contrary to my strong appearance, I have a lot of laughter and rich emotions.
— What are three interesting facts about you?
1. When I was in the army, I served as an assistant instructor and managed and taught trainees.
2. I like challenging activities, so I like mountain climbing and high fashion.
3. I eat about 3 servings of any food. Spicy food is also good.
