My dad came from Vietnam to Poland to study at the University of Warsaw. At first, he planned to go back to Vietnam after getting his degree, but then he met my mother and decided to stay with her.

— Who is your favorite entertainer?
Amy Winehouse is most definitely my favorite entertainer.  She embodies a lot of life learned and portrays that so well in her music. Her use of words and the ability to be so vulnerable about a life filled with depression, drugs and difficult situations is extraordinary. I love watching her live because she just sits there and sings to you through that thick eyeliner. Love Amy.

— Who is someone you admire and why?
My grandma is called Mo Mo and she is possibly the most stylish and elegant person to ever exist. I admire her ability to remain calm and see the positive in each and every situation. If I possess an ounce of her grace, then I would consider myself to be extremely lucky.

— What are you super interested in that most people have never heard of?
There’s a cartoon that I love that was canceled after its first season, it’s called Mission Hill. I remember watching it when I was 15 and loving the art style. In nighttime scenes, all the outlines are white against darker backgrounds and I had never seen anything like it. I find loads of pre-internet media super interesting as it makes me wonder what it would be like to not be so connected to everyone at all times. I find it interesting to be nostalgic for a time you can’t remember.

— Who is your favourite entertainer?
When I was 15, I watched the film Juno for the second time, for some reason I watched it quite young. The soundtrack has a Cat Power song called Sea of Love. I listened to it on a loop and promptly downloaded the rest of her discography. I listened to her album called Moon Pix, and to this day, it’s my favourite album of all time. Cat Power is such an incredible songwriter and her stories are so personal and dark. I could only hope to ever write anything that is so timeless.
