— How did you become a model?
I used to be a professional basketball player. We had a “media day” with the team (it’s where we take photos of the players at the start of the season) and the photographer that took the pictures told me that I should start modeling, acting, or both, haha. At first, modeling for me was something crazy difficult in my mind, so I didn’t really listen to him. But one day I woke up and said that I should try it for fun, went to do some go and sees with some agencies by myself and here I am!

— What’s a story your family/friends like to tell about you?
When I was around 8-10 years old, I was alone in the house and found a hidden red drink. At first, I said, “wow, a new juice!” so after almost drinking the whole bottle, it turns out it was red wine! It wasn’t so fun when my parents returned and took me to the hospital, but now it’s a funny and scary story to tell, lol! Let’s say I got drunk at a really young age by mistake! Fun fact, though: I am studying Oenology now, so everything happens for a reason, I guess!  P.S. I am not an alcoholic, haha

— Who is someone you admire and why?
A model I admire so much is Simon Nessman. Because when I first started modeling, they told me I looked like him. Well, I don’t know if it’s true or not, but he was my first model to look up to, and gotta say he is my first and maybe last time to ever fanboy someone. So one day, I wish I could work with him! Simon, if you see this love ya bro, haha!

Where:

— Who is your favorite entertainer?
I don’t really have a favorite entertainer, but I appreciate Tamara de Lempicka a lot. She was a Polish painter with a strong personality just like most modern women of the 1920s, always ready to challenge the post-war society.

— One thing people may be surprised to find out about you:
I’ve always been extremely interested in Ancient Egypt’s history.

— What’s your most prized possession and why?

I would say my two dogs. They have always been with me, especially my 13-year-old one named Lua, moon in Portuguese. I got her when I was about 4 years old and we immediately became best friends.

— Who is someone you admire and why?
I admire my grandfather very much, his name was Robert Sampson, a legend. Such a pure soul.

— An issue or cause you are passionate about:
Gun violence. Being from England it’s something I never really had to deal with or worry about but it seems as if out here in America it’s a real problem which is unfortunate. Hopefully, rules are put in place to stop things from happening again ideally.

— The most interesting thing about your family:
That we are very cultured, a lot of different nationalities (Swedish/Guyanese/Jamaican/English) which I find beautiful. All my grandparents are first generation.

Nina Allen (@ninaallens) — 175 cm / 5’9″ — American from Boston, Massachusetts — born May 31st — she/her.

Where:
UModels NYC (mother agency), The Industry (New York), The Industry LA (Los Angeles)

— What are three interesting facts about you?
1. Aside from modeling I also love to be the photographer. I’m constantly shooting fun fashion projects with my friend.
2. I’m currently in school as a fashion marketing major with a photography minor.
3. I am half Jamaican.

— The most interesting thing about your family:
My mom, grandma, and grandfather are all artists, so there’s a lot of creativity there. I actually have a tattoo of my mom’s art!

— How did you become a model?
I got into modeling when I was pretty young. My mom signed me up because she thought it would be something I would like, and it turns out she was right! I got my first magazine job at age 9. Of course, I didn’t take it as seriously as I do now, nor was I consistently in the industry until now. Overall it was cool to experience at a younger age.

Pavel

Pavel Pavlov (@_1pavel_pavlov1_) — 188 cm / 6’2″ — Bulgarian from Sofia, Bulgaria — born May 18th — he/him.

Where:
Ivet Fashion (Sofia – mother agency), Premier Model Management (London)

— What are three interesting facts about you?
Well, I suppose one interesting thing about me is that I have been practicing fencing for 12 years now. There is also the fact that I am able to recall certain moments from way back in my very early childhood. And finally, there is my curiosity and desire to learn new things like magic tricks, sports, etc.

— Who is your favorite entertainer?
I don’t have a particular pick. Every entertainer has a unique influence on me. My favorites change with time but currently, my choice would be the basketball player Dennis Rodman. Not only is he arguably one of the greatest sportsmen of all time but off the court he was a rather controversial persona.

— The most interesting thing about your family:
I guess an interesting trait of my family is that both my father and mother are specialized in the world of fashion… just not for people but for buildings. They are both architects.

— What’s a story your family/friends like to tell about you?
I think my mom told me this story like 100 times. When I was a few months old, my older sister and brother were eating spaghetti in front of me while my mom was feeding me baby food. She said that after a few bites I pushed the baby food away and grabbed a hand full of my sister’s spaghetti and then started shoving it down my mouth. My mom looked at me and started laughing, but my siblings were confused and kind of terrified. My mom says that is the moment I earned my siblings’ respect.

— Who is someone you admire and why?
Jay Shetty, host of his podcast On Purpose, the biggest health & wellness podcast in the world I believe. There is so much wisdom to be found in the conversations he has with people. I admire the way he carries himself in conversation – I just think he is a beautiful human being doing a beautiful job in connecting people and spreading wisdom.

— How did you become a model?
As a young girl, a dream of mine was to become a model. When I was old enough, I joined an agency but I was always “in between” sizes so I only did a few shoots. Over the last few years, I did some modeling stuff but mostly for friends so I never took it too seriously. I did apply to a few agencies but nothing came from it. When I was in Mexico a few months ago, Rubiel, who is now my agent, sent me a DM through Instagram, that’s how I got scouted!
