Shan

Who:

Shan Khan, 178 cm / 5’10”, British, born August 15th.

We Asked:

— Something you are self-conscious about?

I struggled as a young child to accept my skin colour. My mum and grandma are much fairer than me, and I would be bullied in school being told I was adopted. It is funny how what makes you feel the worst about yourself becomes your strength.

— The most interesting thing about your family?

My family is incredibly diverse. I have a mix of English, Pakistani, French, Jamaican, Italian, Sri Lankan in my family! We are all beautiful in our own way. I have 2 sisters, & I absolutely have middle child syndrome!

— What are three interesting facts about you?

• I have learnt that it is important to know self-defense, especially as a woman. Some basic Jujitsu and boxing work best for me.
• I was born to travel; I have lived and have been to so many places as a child with my family. I have an immense appreciation for fellow nomads and other cultures.
• I’m obsessed with cats. I feel I relate to them on a deep level.

We Asked:

— Who is your favorite entertainer?

Travis Scott, I’ve listened to him since he was unknown to the majority and I’ve loved watching him grow into the Icon that he is today, his fashion sense is sick and he doesn’t stop dropping big hits, a hero of mine!

— What is something you wish you knew more about?

When I’m relaxing I watch loads of documentaries and always envy the investigative journalists that are in them, I wish I read more and knew more about journalists who follow or solve crimes and big stories, so that’s definitely something I wish I knew loads more about.
