Where:
Scope (Paris), Zoë Model Scout (mother agency)

— Tell us about your hometown.
I’m from Guadeloupe, a beautiful island in the French Caribbean. Life there is relaxed and full of music, like zouk and gwo ka. It’s the kind of place where you can always find a good vibe near the sea.

— One thing people may be surprised to find out about you:
I play video games on my PC: Valorant, Fortnite, Roblox, and Minecraft. Many people are surprised by these activities, especially because it’s a hobby for “boys”.

— An issue or cause you are passionate about:
In my home, Guadeloupe, we face serious problems, especially with access to clean water. In some areas, people can go days, even weeks, without running water, which is really hard when you think we’re supposed to be part of France. The infrastructure is old and poorly maintained, and repairs take forever. Many of us feel abandoned by France; we’re treated like we’re far away and not a priority. It’s frustrating because Guadeloupeans pay the same taxes as people in mainland France, yet we don’t get the same basic services. Still, despite all that, people stay strong and united. We help each other, we keep our culture alive, and we continue to hope for real change.

2. I was in a tsunami in Thailand when I was young with my family.
3. I would love to get an Australian shepherd or husky to match my blue eyes with hers.

— How did you become a model?
I was told when I was younger that I should model, but I always pushed it off because I didn’t feel it was for me. Then, when I got older, I understood that I had a real interest and passion for it and wanted to pursue the industry in my own way, so I ended up signing with Premium Models.

— An issue or cause you are passionate about:
I’m passionate about AI and the effect it will have on humanity and our development, the changes we will have to overcome as humans.

— What’s a favorite book/movie/TV show, and why do you love it?
Challengers: it’s fun, invigorating, and enticing. The movie just uplifted my mood and made me excited for movies with peculiar plots. Also, because Zendaya is in it.

— What are 3 interesting facts about you?
1. I can speak pig Latin.
2. I’m allergic to burgers.
3. I’m ambidextrous.

Ethan

Ethan Lutjens — @3thanl — American from St Louis, Missouri, USA — born May 4th — 189 cm / 6’2.5″ — he/him.

Where:
Hueman Resources (mother agency), New York Model Management

— What’s a favorite book/movie/TV show, and why do you love it?
The Sopranos is my favorite show that I have seen so far in life. I know Tony Soprano is a really evil man… but I love him. Just kidding, I love him as a character, but the things he does throughout the show are irredeemable. No spoilers, of course, but I mean… he’s in the Mafia. Still to this day, it’s my favorite show. The creator understands what he’s writing about to such a degree that it feels real. Every character is complex and well-written. And what’s so interesting to me is that the writer chose the most irredeemable characters he could imagine and gave them the most heartbreaking and introspective dialogue. I rewatch it to this day and still find new things to enjoy.

— How did you become a model?
It started in 2020 when I got scouted and strung along for 2 years before being dropped and ghosted like a bad situationship. I had just about given up on modeling. Until Adrien King, one of my (now) mother agents, came into a hotpot restaurant where I was working and gave me his card. I almost didn’t call because of my past experiences, but I am sure glad I did. I hopped in a van with my mother agents, a bearded dragon, and the dream of being a model. Went to NYC and got signed, and a few years into my career here, I am ready for more.

— If you were to choose a song that symbolizes this current phase of your life, what would it be and why?
I choose “One Rizla” by the band Shame. It’s pretty punk, with a really catchy chorus. The main vibe of the song is that the singer has come to terms with his flaws and various disappointments in his life. And is simply grateful to be alive. And that’s where I’m at, man. I’m really happy to be where I am, in modeling and in life. And I look forward to the future, wherever it may take me.

Kai

Who:
Kai Jiech@kaijohn44 — Swedish from Juba, Sudan — born August 28th — 189 cm / 6’2.5″ — he/him.

Where:
MIKAs (Stockholm – mother agency)

— What’s a story your family/friends like to tell about you?
My family and friends always like to tell the story about the time I made everyone laugh without even trying. One day, I was in a big hurry and accidentally walked out of the house wearing two completely different shoes. I didn’t notice until someone pointed it out, and instead of getting embarrassed, I just laughed and kept going. Now every time someone in my family mixes things up or forgets something, they joke and say they “did a Kai.”

— One thing people may be surprised to find out about you:
People get surprised by how many different languages I speak. I speak four languages fluently: English, Swedish, Arabic, and Nuer.

— What’s one non-physical thing you’d like to change about yourself?
One thing I’d like to change about myself is being too hard on myself. Sometimes I overthink things or feel like I need to be perfect, even when I’m already doing fine. I want to learn to relax more, trust myself, and not stress about small mistakes. I think being more confident and patient with myself would make life a lot easier.

Maya

Who:
Maya Dzipanow — @majadzipanow — Polish from Warsaw, Poland — born January 17th — 176 cm / 5’9.5″ — she/her.

Where:
Selective Management (Warsaw – mother agency), Elite Paris, Fabbrica Milano Management

— How did you become a model?
At the age of 14, I got into an argument with a boy I liked. While lying in the bathtub, I decided I’d show them all — so I sent an application to the first modeling agency I could find. They replied within ten minutes. That’s when I called my mom and presented her with a fait accompli.

— What’s an essential part of your daily routine?
Coffee, coffee, and more coffee. I can’t imagine my morning without a hot cup of americano — no sugar, preferably dark roast. It’s my one addiction I’m fully aware of, and I never plan on giving it up.

— Share a bit about your background and upbringing.
I was raised by a powerhouse of a woman — my mom. She showed me that if you truly want to achieve something, hard work can get you there. She’s a huge inspiration to me, and I hope that one day I’ll be as strong of a woman as she is.
