My mom told me a story about how her cousin wanted to take her to France to model when she was younger, and when he was going to university in France. My grandfather disapproved, though, and told her to focus on school.
— An issue or cause you are passionate about:
I am passionate about the civil issues happening in West and Central Africa at the moment, and how a lot of resource importation and consumption in America and other countries in the U.N. are directly connected to the issues.

— How did you become a model?
A cousin of mine always told me I looked like a model and should give it a shot. At first, I laughed it off, but those words stayed with me. Over time, that small spark turned into passion—I started paying more attention to style, presentation, and confidence. When Anon Models gave me the opportunity, I didn’t hesitate. I saw it as my chance to prove to myself and others that I belonged here.
— Share a bit about your background and upbringing.
My father runs a fabrication business. Growing up, I was always fascinated by how raw materials could be shaped into something useful and beautiful. I trained as a welder, and now I work alongside him, learning the craft while also trying to help grow the business. It’s something that keeps me grounded and gives me a strong sense of responsibility.
— Tell us about your hometown.
I’m from Valsad, Gujarat. It’s a place that perfectly blends tradition with natural beauty. The beaches here are stunning—calm, open, and refreshing. What I love most is that no matter where I go, I never feel disconnected from my roots. Honestly, there’s nothing I dislike about my hometown.

— One thing people may be surprised to find out about you:
I’m a massive “theatre kid”, although I try and hide it, I love music, acting, and singing, and it always seems to show when I’m at parties.
— Can you tell us about your happiest childhood memory?
It’s not an extravagant one, but every Friday when I was young, my parents and I would order a takeaway, which consisted of pizza and chicken, then we would all go into our sitting room and eat it whilst watching Strictly Come Dancing next to the fire. I have never been so cosy in my life under all those blankets.
— An issue or cause you are passionate about:
I’m passionate about encouraging more people (especially boys) to get involved in theatre and acting. I believe it’s an incredible way to bring energy, creativity, and confidence into your life. Sadly, it still carries a bit of a controversial reputation among men, and I’d love to help change that.

When I was a little kid, I held a green mamba. It’s one of the most deadly snakes in the world.
— If you were to choose a song that symbolizes this current phase of your life, what would it be and why?
Get Up, Stand Up by Bob Marley. I think in this time of life, everyone is standing up for Palestine, Congo, and Sudan. I think it’s important to stand up for basic human rights.
— What are 3 interesting facts about you?
– I’m half Belgian and half Gambian
– I’ve always wanted to move to Australia since I was a kid, and now I can finally travel due to modelling.
– I was born 2 months early and weighed 900g and I was 30cm, which is weird because now I’m really tall.

— Can you tell us about your happiest childhood memory?
My happiest childhood memory is spending my summers in Sea Isle City, New Jersey. I remember being 5 years old and taking a walk by the lake at my campground, right outside of Sea Isle City, where I had seen a dragonfly. At first, I was frightened, and then I examined the details of the insect. Now, don’t get me wrong, insects are not my thing; however, the dragonfly was the most beautiful insect I’ve ever seen. Since then, I’ve seen many more dragonflies, and they always remind me of growing up as a young girl.
— If you were to choose a song that symbolizes this current phase of your life, what would it be and why?
Recently, I’ve been spending a lot of time with my family and the people who actually support me. I’ve let go of friendships that make me unhappy. I would say the song to symbolize my life right now would be When I Come Around by Green Day, because it reminds me of my childhood and growing up with a grandfather in a band.
— How did you become a model?
About 2 years ago, I looked into Streamline model management. My dad found the agency, and I was immediately interested. However, I never heard anything back. Eventually, I tried again about a year later and ended up being scouted by Mr. Matthews! I instantly responded to his message, and we met ASAP, and I was signed with Streamline then.

— How did you become a model?
It all started in the early ’90s, right after Gorbachev tore down the Berlin Wall and there was a real boom for Russian models. A scout found me in New York when I came from Moscow to visit my father. I was 20. But at that time, I couldn’t build a serious career — I was struggling with being overweight and discipline, and my love for food and late nights won. Now it feels like a second breath. Thirty years later, I’ve never felt so confident and fulfilled. It’s time to close that old chapter and finally shout to the world: it’s never too late.
— What’s a story your family/friends like to tell about you?
When I was little, I had such a turned-up nose that you could hang a little bagel on it.
— What are 3 interesting facts about you?
In my life, things always happened with a delay — but when they finally did, they came twice as strong.
1. I had always dreamed of having a horse and brushing it in the morning with a cup of cocoa in hand. At 50, after resetting my life and moving from Moscow to Portugal, I started working as a groom at a racetrack stable. One day, I realized I was taking care of 11 horses — and had a coffee machine nearby with the best cocoa I ever tasted.
2. I dreamed of children for a long time, but couldn’t get pregnant. Years later, I suddenly had twins — a boy and a girl.
3. I didn’t get my university degree for many years. But when I finally graduated from film school at 40, my diploma script was immediately bought by a studio — and soon after, my movie was released on TV.
