— Tell us about your hometown.
I live in a small Estonian village; this is where I studied and grew up, this is where I met my best friends and gathered many warm and pleasant memories; this place and people describe the meaning of the word home to me. And the only bad thing about it is the buses that rarely run :)

— How did you become a model?
I saw five times the advertisement for my mother agency on Facebook. I remembered the post, and I matched the description of the person they were looking for, but having seen the post for the first time I did not pay much attention to it. Seeing the advertisement for the fourth time, I said to myself that the next time I saw this post I would definitely send my pictures, and so it happened.

— How did you become a model?
I woke up one morning at 6am for class, but everything in my body told me not to go, so I listened. I then had frozen yogurt for breakfast with my best friend, wore my favorite oversized t-shirt, and applied oil to my hair. We went to get groceries, and I got scouted in the street I live in by Marta (scouter of Two). With oily hair and an oversized t-shirt! So, at the beginning, I asked her if she was joking.

— An issue or cause you are passionate about:
Inequality in every shape and form, injustice, the fact that we still live in a world where people can be seen as or treated as less than others for whatever reason (whether it is race, gender, sexuality, financial position…) is something I will never be able to fathom or accept.

Where:
JAG Models (New York – mother agency), The MiLK Collective (London)

— One thing people may be surprised to find out about you:
I have been studying fine art since I was young, starting with pottery. I started modeling and entered university, and my major was Textile & Clothing Design. However, since I have been interested in photography and modeling since I was young, I took two professional classes in photography at university. I have a lot of things I want to do, and I have a challenging personality, so I want to continue to be an artist beyond the genre and not limited to the field of art!

— Share a bit about your background and upbringing.
These days, the perception of society has changed a lot compared to the past, but when I was young, Korean society was not as diverse as it is now. So, there were many Koreans who made fun of or disparaged my freckles. Some people complimented me that my freckles were my own charm, even though I was bullied by people who disparaged other people’s appearance. So, I became a “freckles model” who loves myself without getting rid of my freckles.

— If money wasn’t an obstacle, what would you be doing with your life?
I would have been more active in overseas modeling activities than I am now. During the semester in Korea, I usually raise money through part-time jobs and use the money I saved during vacation to try to advance into overseas modeling. Since elementary school, I have had interest from famous British photographers and large modeling agencies in New York, but I have not been able to go abroad due to my family circumstances. However, if I had been given financial freedom, I would have lived abroad for a long time and started modeling abroad when I was younger, and I would have studied at the same time.
