— One thing people may be surprised to find out about you:
I prefer other terms but others would probably call me a nerd. I honestly enjoy studying and I can’t imagine not submitting a task on time or cheating in an exam :)

— Among your friends or family, what are you famous for?
When I asked my mom about this she gave me two answers: gastronomy-fascist and the loudest Shakira imitator. Let’s keep it like that.

— The most interesting thing about your family?
My only sister is eleven years old and she is the complete opposite of me. She hates to be in pictures, she would never wear a dress and she loves to play soccer. Despite all the differences we have the strongest relationship and leaving her while I travel is one of the hardest aspects of modeling for me.

— How and when did you become a model?
I became a model in January of this year. A friend of mine was signed to my now current mother agency and convinced me to sit down with this agent. I was never a guy that was fond of being in front of the camera so I was very skeptical about the whole thing but my mother agent was pretty confident that I could be a great model so here I am.

— An issue or cause you are passionate about:
Gender equality is an issue that’s always bothered me since I was raised by a woman. It’s not fair that women don’t get the credit they deserve in their respective fields. They bring things to the table that men sometimes can’t offer. I feel like we need to start appreciating women more for their contributions to society.

— Among your friends or family, what are you famous for?
My competitive attitude in video games and my absurd manga collection. I’m the guy who’s a super try hard and always looking to win.

Evelyn

— Who is your favorite entertainer?
Rihanna and Frank Ocean, I can’t really choose. Rihanna really isn’t that much of an entertainer anymore (I’m still waiting for that album that’s never going to come), but in the last few years she’s been building this empire that is incredibly inclusive, and that just inspires me a lot. Frank Ocean is my favorite musician. His music brings you to this other dimension. He literally has no bad songs.

— An issue or cause you are passionate about:
There are so many things happening in the world at the moment that I feel very passionate about. One of the things that jump out is institutionalised racism in the Netherlands. Recently a big scandal with our tax office came to light that proves how big of an issue institutionalised racism really is. This scandal is only the tip of the iceberg. Racism is embedded so deeply in our schools, government, law, police… I could keep going. This is why I feel so strongly about this issue and I hope more and more other people do too.

— What are three interesting facts about you?
1. I’m really forgetful. If you ask me what I ate yesterday I probably won’t be able to remember.
2. I am half Dutch and half Nigerian.
3. I study fashion & branding at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute

— The most interesting thing about your family:
The most interesting thing about my family is at first they didn’t support my modeling career but now they’re in full support and they pray for me each day to be a star internationally. Sometimes my mum styles me for test shoots. My family started loving modeling because of me.

— Who is your favorite entertainer?
My favorite person is Alton Mason. I like his dancing skills—in fact, I love everything about him and am planning to be better than him someday.

— How did you become a model?
I became a model through being scouted after Skimmer Models Africa saw my comedy skit on Instagram in December 2020. They scouted me, trained, and developed me to the standard that I am now. I am grateful to God that I discovered my talent through them and am very grateful to God that they saw a star in me even when I was doing comedy. I didn’t even think of modeling because I felt I wasn’t fit but today modeling is my life.

Where:

— One thing people may be surprised to find out about you:
I might look a little mean at first glance, but actually, I’m the farthest thing from that! I’m a really friendly and open person, I love to meet new people – this is one aspect I love about modeling. Constantly meeting new people and getting to know new cultures.

— The best and worst aspects of your personality:
The best aspect might be that I can socialize very easily, and find common ground with many different personalities in an instant. The worst might be that I’m quite a bit an over-thinker, and I take everything to heart.

— The most interesting thing about your family?
My family bond is very strong, we literally do everything together! I have a sister, she’s 13 years old, her name is Rebeka. She’s my little chipmunk! My parents are the ones I admire the most in the whole wide world! They are literally PERFECT! I feel like I’ve received a very good upbringing from them – which I’m forever grateful for. Their love is still like the teenager type of classic “love at first sight” which still sparks until this very day after 25 years of marriage. I hope to have that one day! :)

Who:
Cooper Jervis (@cooperjervis); 186 cm / 6’1″; American (Armenian/Dutch) from Orange County, California, USA; born July 20th.

Where:
Ken Harvey Management (mother agency), VISION Los Angeles

— An issue or cause you are passionate about:
A cause I am very passionate is my mom’s kombucha company. It is called TapTap Kombucha, and one thing I love most about her company (besides the kombucha) is how 100% of the proceeds go to helping my friends in Haiti pursue school and have balanced meals every day. I help my mom with a lot of her kombucha duties, whether it is cleaning kegs or doing deliveries. I love knowing I’m doing something and working for a good cause that not only makes people healthier but helps those who are less fortunate than us.

— One thing people may be surprised to find out about you:
I used to have a photography business. I would take pictures of the ocean or waves and sell them to restaurants and surf shops all over Orange County. I would travel to all different surf breaks in California and capture the best waves around the coast.

— The most interesting thing about your family:
For over ten years now my family has run a non-profit through Haiti. We went to Haiti for the first time shortly after the 7.0 earthquake in 2010. We brought medical supplies and school supplies for the people that needed them the most. Every year after 2010 we went back. Soon enough we started a non-profit called Soley Inc. Its focus is to provide jobs through building houses in their community, along with sending the children to school so they can grow up educated.
