— Tell us about your hometown.
When I was a child, my house was close to the mountains. In winter, it was impossible to go to school as the roads were covered with snow and the temperature dropped to -35 degrees celsius. But it was fun there, there were friends.

— Share a bit about your background and upbringing.
I have Tatar Assyrian roots. As a child, I did not have the opportunity to sit on the Internet, so I walked a lot. From the time I was 8, I started working and doing various sports, mostly hockey.

— Can you tell us about your happiest childhood memory?
Grandma and I picking strawberries in a field.

— How did you become a model?
I was always the tallest person in every room, so people kept asking if I modeled. Eventually, I stopped saying, “Maybe someday,” and actually gave it a shot. One casting led to another, and I realized I loved the mix of fashion, creativity, and stepping into different characters.

— One thing people may be surprised to find out about you:
Despite modeling. I’m actually pretty goofy, I laugh at my own jokes, trip over absolutely everything, and somehow still manage to look serious in photos.

— Can you tell us about your happiest childhood memory?
Summer evenings playing basketball until it got too dark to see the hoop. We’d come home exhausted, covered in dust, and convinced we’d just played the most important game of our lives.

— How did you become a model?
I arrived back in Antwerp after returning from a day in Brussels. At central station, I already noticed that someone seemed to be keeping an eye on me. As I walked towards the bus stop, the man I had seen earlier at the station spoke to me, and it turned out he was a model agent, and the rest is HERstory.

— One thing people may be surprised to find out about you:
That I am queer. People often judge you unconsciously based on your appearance. “Oh, but you don’t look queer,” I hear that often. When I was younger, I used to think I had to change my appearance to be more queer-representing. I felt like people would accept me more because of that. But why would I change the way I am just to satisfy other people?

— Tell us about your hometown.
My hometown is Schilde. I really didn’t like growing up there because most people are quite close-minded. I really felt like an outsider who didn’t belong anywhere. But close to my house, there is a forest where you can take beautiful walks throughout all seasons. I really enjoy doing that to clear my mind.

— What’s an essential part of your daily routine?
I always start my day with water, a ginger shot, and coffee. Afterward, I go for a run. Best way to start your day.

— Tell us about your hometown.
So I’m from Umeå, a small city in northern Sweden. All my closest friends and family live here; the only negative thing is that it gets freezing in the winter, and we barely have any summer.

— What’s a favorite book/movie/TV show, and why do you love it?
My favorite TV show is probably Seinfeld. I think the reason why I like it so much is that I used to watch it with my dad when I was a kid.
