Emma

Who:

Emma Fedore, 179 cm / 5’10.5″, American, born December 17th.

We Asked:

— What’s an issue or cause that you are passionate about?

I’m passionate about racial justice and education, so I’ve funneled that energy into advocating for Ethnic Studies in public schools. Ethnic Studies is a holistic course in race, culture, and indigeneity that challenges traditional Western curricula. Teaching history that acknowledges the perspectives of all people is vital to building empathy, which this world is severely lacking in.

— How and when did you become a model?

I’m honestly not too sure how I became a model. From ages 10 to 17, the only pictures of me are like photographic proof of a ghost or Sasquatch; you might glimpse me lurking creepily in the back of a group or running away in fear. I’ve always been fascinated with models and the idea of modeling. After being scouted a few times, I was emboldened to walk into Heffner’s open call this past April and I left with a contract!

— What’s something you wish you knew more about?

I wish I knew how to set up a darkroom in my apartment. Developing photos in high school was a meditative experience for me, and I’d love to have a space that is unclouded by classroom expectations or conventions.

We Asked:

— One thing people may be surprised to find out about you?

When I was younger I collected snails and held them in a container in my room until my mom found out about it and set them free. I thought that they escaped overnight and were running around my room. Now I’m scared of snails and bugs in general.

— What are three interesting facts about you?

– I love customizing my clothes
– My hidden talent is putting my leg behind my head
– I’m obsessed with dying my hair.

— What is something you wish you knew more about?

Probably if aliens are a real thing. I mean they have to be real. Although my friends always tell me I’m crazy for believing in aliens I still strongly do.
