Freddy Engel, 182 cm / 5’11.5″, German, born August 16th.
We Asked:
— What’s the most interesting thing about your family? Do you have siblings?
I am the second oldest of five children, my two sisters and two brothers are probably the most important people in my life. We grew up in the suburbs of Hamburg in northern Germany. My older brother is a sinologist and tea-trader, the older one of my younger sisters just finished her law studies, the other one is a carpenter and artist. The little brother is still in school but following in our footsteps of rebellion against smalltown-boredom and narrow-mindedness already.
— What tips or tricks have you picked up from modelling/the fashion industry?
To pack my bag light and not carry unnecessary weight with me while still having prepared as many different matching outfits as possible.
— What is something interesting about you?
I am studying to be an Art Historian with a focus on heritage protection, like my father. I dropped out of school twice, went back after a while and also switched my subject at Uni twice. Luckily my family always supported me finding my own way. I believe my studies help me to work as a model since Art and Fashion have always been closely related.

We Asked:
— How and when did you become a model?
One of my friends started setting up his own fashion brand not long ago. There were some issues with the models he booked and they couldn’t make the shoot on that day. And my friend asked me if I could help them to take a few pictures. And the picture turned out to be nice surprisingly. After a while, Oscar [from SuperMii] found out the pictures and asked me if I wanna be a professional full-time model. That’s how I started my modeling career.
— What is one thing people may be surprised to find out about you?
I have studied arts since I was young, I tutored some young kids on painting during the weekend when I was in high school, they all got some good results in the competitions.
— Who is someone you admire and why?
My mum is my hero. She has done a lot for our family. And she is learning English now, she is strict to herself.
