Adrian

Who:

Adrian Alvarez, 185 cm / 6’1″, Colombian, born February 24th.

We Asked:

— What did you Google last?

“What does ‘boujee’ mean?”

— What are three interesting facts about you?

1. I love to sing anything, but pretty much pop. I think I’m good at it.
2. I adopted two dogs, Taylor and Nick. My dad wasn’t happy about it, but I did it anyway :)
3. I’m a beach boy. I grew up 45 minutes from the beach, in that place I feel free, I think it is the best way to detox from the bad vibes of people or everyday life stress. The beach food is wonderful and swimming in the sea on a sunny day is priceless. Many of my memories as a child were on the beach, we used to go as a family every year, my brother and I used to play like we were shipwrecked and we had to survive, that was fun haha.

— What is an issue or cause you are passionate about?

I am very disturbed by the pattern of violence that I’m seeing in the news towards people of other races and beliefs. For someone to discriminate against another person to the extreme of even killing others because of their faith or color, like what just happened in New Zealand, is sickening. I have had the good fortune to be exposed to many cultures and religious beliefs. I have had the opportunities to welcome others of all colors and religions into my home. I think that a lot of prejudice comes from preconceived ideas of what others are like and not from education or logic or speaking with them. Once you take off the blinders of hate and discrimination, you see there are good and bad people all over the world and none should be judged by the country they come from, the color of their skin, or their religious beliefs. I’m honored to have friends from around the world and my view of the world is greatly enriched by all of their experiences.
