Milena

Who:

Milena Pinsel, 176 cm / 5’9.5″, German, born November 3rd.

We Asked:

What are three interesting facts about you?
“My favorite animals are goats and pigeons, because I’m impressed by how self-confident goats are, and pigeons just make me laugh because I really love the way they walk- I just think it looks funny. / I can’t make the sound of a lightsaber because my lips will itch like crazy if I try, so I always had a hard time watching Star Wars because everyone would run around making these lightsaber noises while I could just stand there and envy them. / I didn’t eat cheese until I was 18 years old, which also means that I never tasted pizza or burgers for 18 long years and I didn’t even know what I was missing. If somebody asked me ‘What would you do if you could travel in time?’, I’d definitely go to force the Past-Milena to eat cheese earlier, so I wouldn’t have to wait such a long time for these great experiences.”

Who is someone you admire and why?
“It has always been and will always be my sister. She is older than me, her name is Nina. She’s like my best friend. When I was in puberty she even sometimes acted like a mother to me. Like searched for me in the whole city when I went out to party without permission or played a lot of ping-pong games with me because she heard that the synapse in the brain will connect faster when you play a lot of ping-pong, which will cause you to get over puberty way faster. She listens to every story I tell her, no matter how dumb it is. I think she’s the person who had and has the hugest impact on me, and somehow I think I wouldn’t be the same person without her. I’d be more boring without this particular sense of humor we both share, and maybe I would be less crazy, but I’d definitely miss my inner weirdo. I would really do anything for her, and I think she also would do anything for me. It is the strongest bond ever <3" What tips or tricks have you picked up from modelling/the fashion industry?
“Be yourself, always. Modeling really helped me to be more extroverted because you get to know so many people. I also think this is the most fun part about modeling. There are so many great personalities and characters that I only got to know because of modeling and I really appreciate that. Every person I met, if he or she liked me or not, was an experience I would never want to miss. If somebody disliked me, it made me stronger because then you have to start liking yourself even more and if somebody liked me, then as a matter of course you automatically start feeling more self-confident and beautiful. So through modeling I developed this positive way of thinking, which generally helps me in my everyday life :-)”

We Asked:

What’s the most difficult thing you have ever done?
“Finding and buying a birthday gift to my mother. Fortunately, all she wanted was cute words from her son.”

What was your most embarrassing moment?
“I had guitar classes in the past and at the end of every year, we had to play all the songs that we’d learned. There were 40 people listening to me when from nowhere I had a brain crash that froze me and kept me on the same position for 30 seconds. After playing all the songs I just ran away embarrassed.”

What are you very good at OR what do you wish you were better at?
“I wish I could have more patience. I’m always a calm person but when somebody is disturbing me I become really angry and anxious inside.”
