With an increasing emphasis on personality and personal style, models are no longer confined to the uniform of black t-shirt, skinny jeans and heels. Even new faces these days come correct to castings… But what are they rocking before they get gifted pieces hot off the catwalk and develop into street style icons? We asked three newcomers to show us a favourite item from their wardrobes and answer some burning questions about their fashion philosophy.

What did you bring to the shoot?
I brought my Shanghai Tang kimono to the shoot and it is undoubtedly my favourite piece that I’ve pinched from my mum’s vintage clothing business. It’s the perfect item to dress up a simple outfit and is my lucky charm as I was first scouted in it.

The worst fashion decision you’ve ever made?
Maroon tights with double denim and orange trainers.

A fashion trend you hope to never see again?
Low rise, bejewelled, bootcut jeans – pretty much anything from the 2000’s pop scene.

The best fashion/beauty tip or trick you know?
Homemade coffee and coconut butter scrub is fantastic for your skin to keep it moisturised and glowing throughout winter and is a cheap alternative to an arduous routine!

Is there a look or style you wish you could pull off?
I love cropped suit trousers but it’s so hard finding the perfect fit without unnecessary bulge!

What did you bring to the shoot?
I brought my favourite red jumper with me, which I got it from a thrift shop in London. I like second-hand clothing because I always borrow old pieces from my mum and grandmother, so this sweatshirt reminds me of something they would have given me.

The worst fashion decision you’ve ever made?
Completely shaving off my eyebrows when I was younger…

One product or brand you’ll always recommend?
Coconut oil.

Is there a look or style you wish you could pull off?
More risk-taking pieces from the thrift shops that I go to… I usually stick with my comfort level, but it would be nice to be able to pull off some of the more extravagant pieces.

What did you bring to the shoot?
I brought my Henley Royal Regatta rowing medal as this is something I had to work hard to get so I’m proud of it. I also bought my Barbie top because it shows the girly side I have that conflicts with my tomboyish personality.

The worst fashion decision you’ve ever made?
It has to be getting a fringe when I was 13, they don’t suit me and I didn’t know how to style it.

A fashion trend you hope to never see again?
Fake tan for sure. Despite being an Essex girl I think it looks awful!

A fashion trend you hope makes a comeback?
Farrah Fawcett hair.

How would your family and/or friends describe your personal style?
Boots and Barbie – I’m full of contradictions.
