Anna Juvander's journey is a captivating tale that begins in a suburban area south of Stockholm. As a child, her passion for literature shaped her days, immersing herself in the world of books. In 1986, a new chapter unfolded when Eilieen Ford discovered her, offering the chance to experience a summer in the vibrant city of New York.
This opportunity led Anna to grace the cover of Lei Magazine, photographed by the renowned Mario Testino, and to contribute to editorials for prestigious publications like American Vogue with Irving Penn. Despite her success in modeling, Anna's fascination with the art form inspired her to venture into film production. Alongside her husband, she established a production company based in their private loft in Brooklyn.
After five years behind the camera, Anna's life took a spiritual turn as she embraced Zen Buddhism and adopted regular meditation practices. This newfound interest prompted her to embark on a three-month Buddhist retreat, marking a transformative period that led to her divorce from her husband. During the retreat, she encountered a Japanese monk who invited her to join his family in the serene countryside of Japan, where she resided for four years.
In 2001, without a concrete plan, Anna moved to Paris, where serendipity played its part. A friend introduced her to a job at a modern dance studio, opening the door to numerous projects at Centre Pompidou and years spent at a theater studio in Bordeaux.
After a life shaped by diverse experiences around the globe, Anna ultimately decided to return to Sweden. Today, she resides there with her husband and three children, embodying the spirit of resilience, self-discovery, and a journey that has come full circle.
