Citing <a href='https:\/\/models.com\/people\/bert-stern'>Bert Stern<\/a>&#8216;s now classic portraits of Marilyn as his starting point, Gurung delved into the iconography of the 50s, with a twist of carefree insouciance. Vintage silhouettes with their old school femininity can often be too retro for their own good, but Gurung added modernity via a wealth of high tech materials and his out of this world prints. Delivered in an array of electric pastels, Gurung&#8217;s pencil skirts, nipped waist day-dresses and satin sheaths were a futuristic take on a much loved look.
