Sophie Theallet Fall/Winter 2011

Posted by Stephan Moskovic | February 22nd, 2011

Sophie Théallet’s muse for fall was Faye Dunaway’s endlessly sexy bank robber from the Arthur Penn classic, Bonnie and Cylde. While designers frequently source vintage films for collection inspiration, the Théallet’s interpretation is laced with a very French sensibility. Serge Gainsbourg played on the speakers as girls like Anais Mali and Aminata strode down the runway in pencil skirts and little red heels. Rich hues of sapphire and sienna added drama into the mix and as always Théallet”s cuts were perfection. Her skill (honed through years at Alaia and JPG) was especially evident in the final gowns, whose sleek proportions were practically molded to the body.

Strong dresses but a a more modern choice of color would be favorable.

  3. LOVE high-waisted clothing!!! I have a very high waist, so the rise is usually way to low for me, making my pants ride up… I have the same issue with dresses. So annoying. Would love to see more!!
