Jean Paul Gaultier x Brooklyn Museum
As one of fashion’s true legends, Jean Paul Gaultier has shaped the course of sartorial history for over four decades. As a couturier Gaultier has influenced pop-culture, fashion and cinema with his witty, sexy and imaginative designs. When a designer’s calling card includes images as memorable as Madonna’s cone bras, Leeloo’s bandage catsuit from The 5th Element and the jaw dropping costumes of Almodovar’s Kika, you have the makings of a spectacular retrospective – precisely what JPG fans will find at The Brooklyn Museum‘s exhibit, The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier. Offering an expansive whirlwind tour through the designer’s oeuvre, the exhibit revisits some of his most celebrated collections alongside never before seen items culled from the closets of Gaultier’s high profile admirers. Utilizing an impressive mix of video and collection pieces, the exhibit takes viewers inside the mind of one of the most inventive personalities in the business.

This exhibition used to be in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. I love it.
Includes almost no recent work because he’s become incredibly uninspiring.
Please bring it again with updated material to SF! Love Madonna’s corset
And to think that people doubdted his talent in the seventies…. but now his creativity isn´t so sharp anymore, probably due to the animosity of the fashion market. JPG is LOVE, anyway!
AMAZING… I love all of them.
his legacy deserve a museum !
