Anthony Vaccarello Fall/Winter 2013

It is hard to believe that Anthony Vaccarello‘s eponymous line is only a few years old; most designers take awhile to find their footing, but Vaccarello’s vision has been clear right from the start. Every season he keeps it simple and sensual with hard edged look that brings out the inner vixen in all his beauties. There are even a host of Vaccarello signatures one can always look forward to seeing – a skillful interpretation of the thigh high slit, cutouts crafted with surgical precision and of course the body conscious silhouette that exudes confident sexuality.

Fall saw Vaccarello adding to his oeuvre by embracing a tough, almost military influenced aesthetic complete with sharp shouldered coats and skinny leather trousers. Strength and sensuality always find common ground in Vaccarello’s collections so for every tough as nails leather jacket, there was an equally alluring mini-skirt, or metal grommet embellished accent revealing a flash of skin. These were not ensembles for the faint of heart, but the sexier offerings were especially palatable this time around. The sculpted finale dresses on Karmen Pedaru and Isabeli Fontana dared to bare, the metallic detailing left a little to the imagination which upped the sex appeal of both gowns. Mystery is the sexiest thing of all and as one of fashion’s masters of eroticism Vaccarello knows this better than anyone.
