Georgia Hilmer doesn’t aspire to be categorized by her model-ness–though she’s able to list shows like Dior, Chanel and Alexander Wang alongside editorials in magazines like Interview, Vogue Italia and Vogue Germany on her resume–more than many who boast themselves as much. As the aphorism goes: if the pants fit. And here they undoubtedly do, but model may be a bit of a misnomer when in fact she’s much more: a student of literature and sociology, a writer herself and a budding photographer. Though her creative voice is quietly introspective, it’s one that is quickly being heard. Amidst all the posing pretty, New Jersey-born Georgia has been cultivating her crafts. If she’s not in front of someone’s camera, she’s behind hers. Just one of the artistic languages she’s increasingly versed in, most recently utilizing her own experience to shoot fellow model Lineisy Montero for a Document online editorial. The results are poetic, hushed and feminine. It’s apparent her perspective is distinctly her own. Needless to say, Georgia was on our mind.
