Fashion is so often thought of as strictly seasonal with pieces needed for a brief moment. But what if you could stay in utopia forever? For the nomadic traveler, chasing the sun and its joyful warmth, buying into a collection that understands and celebrates the need for enduring style is essential. Enter designer Leila Ligougne whose eponymous womenswear line rejoices the modern paradise with intricate artisanal design and detailed craftsmanship. Concentrating on universally versatile pieces, Ligougne developed a collection of one size only dresses to be worn dramatically loose or more formally with an obi belt. Citing the need to make something timeless in response to fashion’s incessant and debatably wasteful need to create something new, Ligougne would rather build by adding new styles to the existing range. Marc Pilaro shot the airy creations on boho gems Grace Bol and Veronica Vilim as they roamed from New York’s familiar cityscape to the water’s edge.
