The Look of Day 1

New York fashion week has just kicked off but already there have been some truly imaginative things sent down the runways. We’ve been keeping track of our favorites from day one and here are a few little things that stood out to us.

Vena Cava
never fails to deliver a strong collection, this season their 70s inspired look had a laid back yet luxe feel just felt right. The grey leather jacket on Flo Gennaro, looks like a must have – especially when paired with a LBD and fishnets, something about the way Flo carried off this simple combination makes it all look effortless. Those quirky little sunglasses don’t hurt either.

On the beauty side we couldn’t help but be impressed by the spiked nails at Cushnie et Ochs: we thought we had seen it all when it comes to nail adornment but these took things to the next level. Even If barbed nails aren’t your thing, the soft makeup on all the girls, especially the lovely Anya Kazakova. Check out the subtle smoky purple – love it.

Tell us what you loved from the first day of New York Fashion Week!!!!

  1. I really dug the sweater(-dress?) Emma Maclaren wore at Cushnie et Ochs. It was like a 21st century ode to medieval chainmail, on top of looking really warm and comfortable as well! I would hibernate in it if I could. 🙂
