Vogue Mexico Brings In 20 years with ‘Roma’

Our site might be in the business of models, but a great cover is a great cover – actress, model, or otherwise. In this fashion, we turn to Vogue Mexico‘s new year issue that features Alfonso Cuarón’s latest muse from Netflix’s Roma, Oaxacan actress Yalitza Aparicio. Fresh from her on-screen debut, the breakout indigenous actress and former pre-school teacher is refreshingly shot by Mexican photographers Santiago & Mauricio in escaramuza influenced Dior, where she represents a small faction of indigenous entertainers or models that have graced the cover. In a time where it can seem harder to break boundaries or do something new, more unexpected moments can provide a bigger payoff as fashion takes on its next evolution.
