The prayers of fashion devotees have been answered as the Metropolitan Museum of Art starts preparation for its annual spectacle and fundraising gala, The Met Ball. Hosted this year by Rihanna, Amal Clooney, and Donatella Versace the top players in fashion, media, sports and Hollywood will descend on the first Monday in May to view the latest exhibition theme “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” hopefully in saintly appropriate wares. Media partner American Vogue puts fashion in the context of religion in its May pages with top models Edie Campbell, Mayowa Nicholas, Rianne Van Rompaey, and Vittoria Ceretti inspiring devotion as celestial muses. Phyllis Posnick gets divine access to ornamental archive pieces from Dior, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Balenciaga, and Christian Lacroix.
