Platon‘s portraiture has captured the most prolific names of pop and political culture throughout the world. Stemming from the current upheaval of Hollywood and fashion titans due to sexual abuse, the famed photographer has unveiled via Instagram his unique and powerful vision of contemporary women. “Repeatedly, I have seen young women portrayed as mere sexual objects and vacant clothes horses on the pages of glossy fashion magazines,” he laments via social media. “I want to see young women expressing power and strength in our western media. If fashion is an aspirational ideal, then that’s a good enough channel for me to work with.” Pairing up with Garage Magazine, the photographer and team of Phoebe Arnold, Ashley JavierPat McGrath present compelling portraiture of the modern model muses of the moment. "Let's talk about fashion, style, and sub culture. Let's talk about the way we express ourselves. Repeatedly, I have seen young women portrayed as mere sexual objects and vacant clothes horses on the pages of glossy fashion magazines. This 'corrupted ideal' troubles me deeply. I am proud to present my latest collaboration with Garage Magazine. It's a 20 page portfolio showcasing the world's most celebrated models and fashion collections. These inspirational young women are powerful influencers in today's society, and it was an honor to photograph each and every one. This was a POWER PARTY. Showcasing great talent, I was also thrilled to work with Phoebe Arnold, the new and super talented Garage fashion director, as well as the creative forces of Pat McGrath's makeup team and Ashley Javier, the hairstylist. We present young women of power. To the Harvey Weinstein's of the world – RUN AND HIDE…”
