Summer is always a season that sets itself apart, one with its own mentality, when days are longer and nights are warmer and everything feels a little more relaxed—even if we don’t get three months off from school anymore. To celebrate the spirit of summer, British menswear magazine HERO Magazine is introducing a new zine filled with enthusiasm and excitement, kicking off with the exclusive news of cover star Nick Jonas’s latest single, a major scoop for a print publication in the days of constant online churn.
The oversized, image-focused edition—Jonas’s feature by Daniel King and Gro Curtis is the sole written piece—is packed with personal projects, from a selection of meaningful fabrics by Dries Van Noten to a candid street scene from Ari Marcopoulos. King also documents a football game between Florida and Georgia, while Chad Pitman kicks off a series of “Artist Nudes,” set to rotate through collaborators every issue. In a limited edition of a thousand and bundled together with four posters and a new issue of cult zine BOYO by Patrick Waugh, the HERO Summer Zine celebrates print and all its possibilities, promising to keep the energy level high through the hot days ahead.
