Poly Power

It’s never hard to find a good reason to write about Natasha Poly–whether it’s recapping a prolific career that sports endless covers and campaigns, or simply musing on the catwalk queen’s iconic power strut. So, if only to remind ourselves of her interminable dominance ever since 2004, it’s worth mentioning her latest haul for Autumn 2015. For the cover of the Vogue Paris‘ September issue, photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the super radiates a wild, untamed beauty–courtesy of stylist Emmanuelle Alt and makeup artist Val Garland. Back in her homeland, Natasha fronts the latest issue of Vogue Russia. The look here is austere, photographed by Patrick Demarchelier and styled by Olga Dunina, looking perfectly chic in lustrous leathers with a defining bold eye by Virginia Young. Besides these two top glossies–no sweat–Miss Poly can be seen in Michael Kors’ Fall 2015 campaign all polished and lensed by Mario Testino. Certainly she’s flexing a little Poly Power! But when is she not? Viva Natasha!

  1. She deserves to be on the “New Supermodel” list with the likes of Daria Werbowy, Natalia Vodianova and Karen Elson. She’s too big for being in the industry icons list.. she’s bigger than many models in the new super models list.. Karlie, Joan or Jourdan are more famous in terms of instagram, twitter etc but talking about high fashion she kills them all.. and Natasha has been on the industry from 12 years and she never slowed down. She had 3 Vogue Paris covers in less than half an year.. this is INSANE.. and she covered September ALONE and she had a cover with her child last October by Mario Testino.. and that was a huge major big deal for her.. because it was about her life.. about being a mom.. and not many models who are mum can say to have been on the cover of Vogue Paris with their child.. Plus she’s everywhere with campaigns.. from Michael Kors, H&M, La Perla, Isabel Marant (2 times in a row).. she got a L’Oreal contract.. i mean she deserves a better place..

The supermodels of this generation for me are Natasha, Daria Werbowy, Natalia Vodianova, Raquel Zimmermann, Karen Elson, Mariacarla Boscono and Liya Kebede. These women don’t have the fame, the millions of followers or the paparazzi that follows them but they have the longevity, the respect and the power in the industry. RESPECT to these women. i call them the new supermodels.. because they have the works that makes the difference and they worked hard for their place.. they earned that title.. not these new girls who are called supermodels in less than 2 months just because they got millions of followers and 1 big campaign in their resume.

  2. And it’s ridiculous that you put her on the Industry Icon list while models who hasn’t booked any job for the past seasons like Kate Upton on New Supers. Natasha is the Super!

  3. Bless Natasha! I’ve been a fan since I was 14 and saw an editorial of her. She so strikingly beautiful in every way and has a beautiful personality to match. Natasha and Sasha P are the only ones of their “poupees russes” generation to still be adored in the industry.

  4. She really earns the position she is having in the industry. She has been working so hard since the beginning. Natasha, Anja, Isabeli F. are real hard working supermodels to me.
God knows how much they treasure their careers, always do it with their best, non stop for decades.

  5. Amazing longevity but still ‘fresh’ and always doing something new. The Instagram famous don’t compare – she is in the class of lovely Natalia, Sasha & Liya!

  6. I noticed recently that if some model has those Angel wings, then people instantly call them a supermodel, like wtf. How unfortunate fashion has become. haha!
Natasha Poly is the definition of a True Supermodel because she’s been killin’ it in high fashion, commercial, cosmetics, editorials, multiple covers in elite magazines, and just simply an all-around in everything arts and fashion. Also her runway walk is among the best in the industry, no one dare to argue with me on that! Now if we can just forget about the whole mainstream fame, and let her superb modelling track record speak for her, then there’s your answer, Natasha Poly is a legit Supermodel.

  7. Finally you added Natasha to the new Supers list..
Can you please change Natasha’s profile picture in the new Supers list? Maybe a cover where her face is more visible.. maybe her Vogue Paris October 2014 or September 2015 cover..
And btw you said in her description in the new Supers list that she covered Vogue Paris alone 8 times… but she covered Vogue Paris alone 9 times and she has 10 Vogue Paris covers.. one was multi girls.. in 2005.
