Campaign Confidential

The vibrant SS14 collection was a departure for Celine but its buoyant energy is captured perfectly by Juergen Teller and Stephen Galloway. The Kandinsky-esque prints and primary colors come alive thanks to Galloway’s dance moves and elegant poses by Daria Werbowy andJulia Nobis

Bad girls do it well in Alexander Wang’s cheeky spring ads, Steven Klein shoots in a bathroom stall as Anna Ewers poses in one of Wang’s memorable parental advisory mesh tops. The gritty vibe is underscored by Karl Templer‘s styling and creative direction by Pascal Dangin.

Given that we’re right in the middle of awards season, Miu Miu’s actress fronted campaign seems especially timely. Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin shoot an array of rising stars including fashion favorites Lupita Nyong’o, Elle Fanning, Elizabeth Olsen and Bella Heathcote

When you wear Tom Ford, all eyes are on you so it only seems fitting that the designer’s S/S 14 campaign centers around a crowdsurfing theme. Models Esther HeeschConrad Bromfield and Carlos Peters get carried away – literally – as Ford shoots them in glamorous pieces from his ready to wear, eyewear and accessories empire.

  1. The fact Anna Ewers is not on any list is beyond alarming guys! With this brilliant campaign and all the huge recognition she’s been getting during all these months she should move straight to Top 50.

  2. Although she’s not a model and I find the styling hideous, I’m so pleased to see Lupita in the Miu Miu campaign, her complexion compliments all the colours so well; which often makes me wonder why you rarely see black models in campaigns?! That’s another argument though…

Celine, nothing special but I do love Daria! Alexander Wang, no comment, I simply don’t like it. And lastly Tom Ford, as I love him beyond belief, I’ll say it’s not too bad. The male model is working those colours so well but I don’t know how I feel about the crowd surfing concept. Hmm…

  3. Lupita wins this round, surprisingly because Daria is usually queen but I really dislike the Celine campaign. Anna Ewers gorgeous as ever but the casmpaign is not exactly classy

  4. Ok, here I go once again, I’m sorry about that.
I’ve never liked Julia Nobis but her portfolio is already beyond amazing, and now a fresh VI cover and Dior & Celine campaigns. She could perhaps replace Sui He, who has done like… nothing over the past year.
While it breaks my heart, it seems like Suvi has taken yet another leave of absence, so You might as well wipe her off the list. Edie is so ahead of her with 5 Vogue covers last year, with three of them VI. Edie also has LV, Dior and Jil Sander this season which must be close to an industry record. She could be number one for all I care.
Sorry for the outburst but at least I was being polite and coherent for once.

  5. Celne, Miu Miu and Tom Ford look the same every season so I go for Alexander Wang with a bit of humor and risk.
