Hero Magazine‘s new issue is out with an ode to “Volatile Opulence”, marking rising young face Matt Ardell‘s 3rd cover in a year. Shot by Christian Ferretti with styling by Gro Curtis, Matt wears the season’s strongest coats by 3.1 Phillip Lim, Belstaff, Emporio Armani, Prada, LV and more. The foreboding sky coupled with the ominous looking German Shepherd chicly complete the dark atmosphere. Interviews with Roberto Cavalli, Silvia Venturini Fendi, Lucas Ossendrijver, Stuart Vevers, contributions from Nicola Formichetti, Phillip Lim, Siki Im and a Dior Homme S/S 13 preview makes this new HERO a must buy for fall (click here to buy the issue, available online now and in stores Oct 22).

  1. this reminds me of the arizona muse photographed by david sims in vogue last year. remember her and the warrior? really imitation is the highest form of flattery – madonna

  2. I hate when they mix the seasons. What the hell is Prada’s SS (did I recognize it well?) collection doing in the middle of all those coats?

  3. The photography is very dated. Looks like an assistant shot this. Oh wait, an assistant do shoot this.

If there is any proof that assisting craig mcdean will not make you the next craig mcdean, this is it. It looks like an A-level photography project with the faux burning in and ‘gritty’ backgrounds. I though this magazine may know better than this, it started so well with so much direction. just jumping on the association bandwagon.

this magazine has lost its direction and pioneering the talented youth, such a shame.
